I'm getting to an age where sitting comfy on the bank is quite important and my old fox duralite has been great, but not the comfiest but incredibly light

So are top fishing chairs worth the money i.e. durable, reliable, continued comfyness after using for a while, etc or are there some lower priced options worth a look at too?

What I know I'm after is a wide chair (60cmish), arm rests and light enough to be able to carry in one hand for anything up to 500m.

Any thoughts or feedback on long term use would be helpful.

Look at the solar sofa chair if you want comfort it has the built in arm rests just a tad over 5kg

I was going to say the same but saw one of the Duralite at 3.2kg and thought the difference might be too much. If the weight isn't off putting defo a consideration, so comfy!
If your a messy angler, method on hands etc it may not be the best option, wipe clean armrests for that sort of use.

I have the Duralite xl and the Solar comfy chair

You can't compare them, the Solar is of quality and seating comfort x 10, my English stafford now uses the Duralite chair

Just been and bought the Solar chair, my Duralite isn't very comfortable.

Also, under the front corner I can see the stitching has come apart and I am not sure how many more times I will be able to drop into it before I continue through and bounce on the ground.

The difference will be chalk and cheese. The only thing it's missing, and the thing my Mrs accessorised it with, the Korum Any Chair Side Tray, but you could always put your brew on a couple of buckets. Got to say I preferred it with a pillow on the seat, but I probably didn't have it set up right, I was constantly being reminded it wasn't mine

I didn't like the look of the tube diameter on the recliner. Too slim and more joints/weak spots to go wrong. I already have a Fox recliner anyhow (albeit from the 20th century!)

Also, I rarely take a chair...I will probably only use this for Pike day trips this winter so I won't be laid back relaxing. Too cold and I'll be staring at floats some days

@Vossy1: I already have a tray...although I think mine might be from AVID. Used it once or twice on the bedchair but it was a faff to put on/off for quick overnighters so it got stashed and constantly gets in my way in the garage. Might get used now though

I need to find one to sit on and make sure my big ass goes on the seat comfy, but the online pictures don't show it with arm rests. Is there more than one type?

Same, I'm not too fussed about reclining, something else for me to break

Mostly a boile or maggot fisher these days, but a bit of dirt never hurt anyways 🙂

The arm rests are built in, you sink into the chair when you sit on it and they're defo arm rest height then. Dirt wise, the armrests are covered in lovely soft micro fleece, hence not the easiest to clean, I would imagine.

One thing maybe someone with both can answer is how big the seat area is on the solar compared to the duralite?

There aren't any in stock near me so might just have to have a punt and return if it doesn't work out

The solar has a better seating area,it is wider in both ways.The built in arms stop all the drafts too,the build quality is far superior.My duralite had stitching issues on the underneath

The avid tray looks identical to the Korum one but different mounting. The korum tray mount arm is fixed so you can leave the chair leg bracket on the chair, just swing it out and move up, drop the tray arm in job done. Think I prefer that the avid tray is flat without the arm, easier to store.

Solar Sofa chair arrived today and won't be going back, thanks for the recommendation 👍.

Incase anyone is looking, I got mine from tackle tavern £125 inc free next day delivery which I thought was pretty decent too. They seem a reliable lot where ever in the internet they are.

Anyway anyone know anyone that wants a Duralite 😂😂😂

Tackle Tavern are superb and the sofa chair is the best chair I've ever owned.Get a snugpak jungle blanket and sit with that wrapped around you on a cold winters evening,it's bliss

Did Solar bring out the sofa chair first?

Looks like there are a couple of copies out there if so.

They posted on facebook yesterday saying they were overwhelmed with orders due to the closing down offer and will get orders shipped as quick as possible.
My esp lo-pro brolly came in 2 days but i ordered it only 1 hr after they announced they were closing down so got in before the mad rush for bargains. Proper bargain at £112 with free delivery.

I thought as much I'm just hoping the stuff I ordered hasn't been sold to foot fall before my order even being seen. I followed up my order with a phone call a hour after to add to it, just got a recorded message. Sent a e-mail too, never got replied to. I got a automated reply to my e-mail this am saying the same as you posted. Tbh, I'm not holding out much hope but you never know your luck

Chair arrived today, the cat loves it.
Probably fishing Thurs/Fri so will take it with me for some comfort for a change (normally an overnighter/sit on a bucket type)
