My old fox alarms gave come to the end of there working life and was going to buy the rx+ but can't bring myself to spend the money .with so many alarms in the market now what do people recommend new or 2nd do any of the smaller company's do anything good that are actually weather proof etc thanks

I've been using the fox MX's, I can't fault them as they have everything I need on a alarm plus the receiver is decent too.

The Mini Micron X would be my choice. £170 for 3 plus receiver, can't see what the RX actually do over and above them for an extra £420.
I bought a set for some iffy fishing and ended up using them all the time. Completely reliable, great battery, plenty of adjustment, great range, small and light.

I agree, when you look at features that are actually useful (e.g. different tone for drop back) the micron X's have them all. £170 for a 3 rod set is good value and should be reliable vs. some of the cheaper alarms. I'd rather spend that extra money on bait (or a ticket for that matter!)

Was in the shop this summer ready to buy the RX+ set in the end i decided to keep my Mini Micron X set and spend the money on something else, only reason I wanted the RX+ set is the option: Extra Bivvy light that only turns on after 3 beeps but thinking about it not worth the extra money for me

I have been using the NewDirection S9's for years. Receiver can control settings on the alarms remotely so if you want to drop the sensitivity down a bit due to wind an rain, can be done from the comfort of your bivvy.

No I don't currently have Carp Sounder alarms , however a lot of my friends in Austria have them and never had any problems with them unlike delkims. I believe the Age one is the latest in the range.

Sonik SKS2's are incredible for the money and all the features they come with. Look up the carpology review on YouTube. They have now pretty much made my Fox Micron MX's redundant, to the point that I have recently sold 3 of my 7 MX's.

The first model were also very good. My spare set must be 7 years old. Bar an LED that's failed on one they work perfect. Far more reliable than some treble the price

I agree, however they were probably given the best of the best to review. So it may not be entirely carpology who were in the wrong. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day
I never trust an infomercial, and would never regard it as an honest review.
That's why I'm never a first adopter, I will always wait for honest feedback before I buy any major item.

I realise that carpology's reviews are massively biased, but suggested watching the video just to get an idea of the features you get for your money, rather than the actual review lol.

I'd have thought for value, reliability and longevity. A set of ATTS would take some beating.
I quite fancy a set myself for my back up set up. They seem refreshingly uncomplicated and I've never personally met anyone who uses them that's ever had a problem.

Using a set Mini Micron X's for about 3 years now and i can't fault them.

Been all around the houses for a few years and I came back to these, I should have just stuck with them. If you want reliable and simple they are the best.
