So many posts on here about a brolly's / bivvy's, so sincere apologies for starting a new one, feel free to ignore.

My requirements are fairly specific, and so this is an attempt to see if anyone has found a good solution:

I want a brolly that can become a night shelter with either an overwrap or similar.

I am 6ft 6 so I want a brolly that fits my solar bed chair at night.

The speed of pack down is important as I want to be able to move quickly. Speed of set up is not important.

For the right system, budget isn't an issue, the Aqua brolly looks interesting, but I am not sure there is an overwrap.

I bought a korum pentalite and it was too low and too small, and hardly fitted my solar sp ctec bedchair - so sent the brolly back.

I've got the sonik AXS bivvy and one of the bars has already bent, and it does not pack down small. I wont be buying much Sonik gear ever again.

At the moment it looks like the Trakker Tempest 100T is going to be what I need, but it still feels a faff and not really the mobility of a proper brolly. But being 6ft 6, maybe I just have to accept that the brolly/bivvy system is not available to me.

The overwrap bit is the faff, more pegging. What about a brolly with a zip in front like the Solar Undercover or the Wychwood Tactical?

Nash titan hide XL quick to set up decent internal space and great head height and can add an overwrap if you wise

Are you moving your kit on a barrow.
If so, then you only have to fold the tempest arms in and don't need to break them down, then just lay across your barrow.

A tempest really isn't a faff, and doesn't need anything to become a night shelter. I use an open fronted air V2 all year round, the only addition is a skull cap

Have a look at the Ultralite 100, that has good headroom and is more of a brolly that converts into a bivvy. Good for use all year round as well.

Im 6'3 and I have an ultralite - ive also got the hyde xl id suggest the hyde xl over the ultralite - much bigger footprint and headspace - However for me a tempest air if you can eitrh an over wrap for the winter is by far the quickest of the 3

After a fair bit of research on the below suggestions, I think it's looking like the Aqua Ultralite 100.

I'll cool off for a few days as I want to be as sure as I can be, and continue with some more research. In terms of weight, height, setup ease etc it seems to be a good fit.

Also, see if a discount voucher might crop up in one the shops.

I did really like the look of the solar one too.

Tempest 100T, you won't regret it

I've managed to accumulate an Ultralite, Undercover brolly and a 100T over the past few years. The Solar Undercover gets used the most by far as I prefer a brolly.

Be mindful that the pack down on the Ultralite is nearly 2m and it's far from light in weight. You also still have to mess about with the two metal bars to put it up and it's a pain in any sort of big wind.

If you're after something with an over wrap I'd go for the 100T.

100T would be my choice.........no real faff apart from seperating some poles and taking out 4 pegs........

Even being an Ultralite fanboy (I love em) maybe look at the Tempest RS Brolly / stripped down RS 100 . . ?

Now that they've realised normal (and taller) anglers don't like pretending to be hobbits the massively improved head height and revised footprints could be worth considering . . .

I'm thinking about selling up all three and doing exactly that with the RS100 bivvy. Do love the Undercover brolly though, so might just keep that

Trouble is finding any for sale - against all logic / Ultralite heresy I too suddenly 'desire' an RS100 . . .but only because I don't like my V2 utility front (pathetic excuse) !

Looking more like the Tempest 100T.

I'm not able to do many nights currently (work/child), so this will do me for a while for sure, and like 'Baitman' said, it can be put on my barrow easily if I move.

Aqua brolly is really easy to carry/ set up, you can buy an overwrap or some sides for it that clip in off of facebook I cant remember who does them but the whole set up is perfect for days or quickly moving. I have that and a T100 and if im going for a short time and its not lashing it down i take the aqua brolly , the T100 is a bit bigger to hump around to be honest with you . Much more head room in the T100 and much more sturdy also .
Both have there plusses and minusses but if i only had to choose one it would be the T100 becouse it is very versatile and you can get the peak etc.

100T is the best I've ever had, lightweight, quick to breakdown/erect, tall enough and beats any of the brollies I've had in the past - no comparison.

Sat in mine now, hoping against hope 🤣

I'm 6 ft 4 with a solar bed and the 100t suits me down to the ground . Quick to erect and dismantle . Recommend the zip in front panel for winter and poor weather .

Total fishing tackle had the ultralite and skull cap for £399 on Tuesday - absolute bargain price.

tempest brolly 100T is perfect for what you need with the front infill and skull cap

\not the biggest of brollies but i use a Tempest V2 brolly all year round, when the dog or son comes fishing with me or i go to France i just put on the utility front.

I'm using a Trakker Tempest 100, one of the early ones, with an infill panel. Im 5'10 and i wish it was a bit taller so a 100T would be more suited for you.

Its really not that much of a faff at all like others have highlighted, very easy to setup and pack down, the annoying bit is pegging but if you use it with the front open, you can get away with 3 pegs, 1 in the back and then 2 in the front either side.

Has anyone bought from carp.com before? The 100T is £100 cheaper on there, just wanting to check before hitting the button...

I was after an overwrap for a bivvy recently and carp.com were one of the few places showing stock. I don't think it's an active online store though as it doesn't give you a shipping method once you enter your details.

Hi mate, thank you for the below. Is it pick up only, if so do you know where they are based? I was just suprised that all the shops are the same price within a fiver, but they're £100 cheaper.
