Hi all, how are people finding using the Harrison aviator flex model, happy with them?
Do they have a fairly decent playing action. I have some e.s rods, if any owners have both of these how would you compare the blanks.

love mine , had a few years now and although ive had not much experience of casting with them as mostly only go to the same venue for a couple of weeks per year where weve got access to a boat ,had fish to over 40lb on & theyre definately a lovely rod to play fish on , not broomsticks

90/100 yds 3.5oz lead seems ideal really nice rods 👌
Lovely playing action prefer them to the 12ft plus model which I had previously

Was also thinking about the 11ft Aviators, but deep down I'd rather get the baby ballistas in 11ft 2.5lb at some stage,(when I have a ruthless long overdue tackle cull).

Need to get my post count up, to start getting shot of stuff, EBay is a pain.

Very Happy with them. A pleasure to play fish on but will chuck a lead a decent distance if needed

Had a set of 3lb ballista slims before these & again although lovely rods just seemed a little bit undergunned at times , the flexs seem to have just enough backbone in them before rods start to get a little harsh , for me & what i want from them at least

I have never heard a negative word back from any aviator flex i have built and supplied as said lovely playing action and can fling a lead if you are not looking at stupid distances.Cant help with the Fs comparison.One thing though and i always say this dont have stupid sized guides put on them smaller and more guides will get the best from the blank.

I haven't fished at any real distance with them but the fish playing and shorter range work I have done they have been faultless.

I'll be putting 8+1 rings on the rods Jeffire, starting with a 30mm through to a 12mm tip.
I much prefer smaller guides. I do have some 50mm rings on some off the shelf aqua retractable rods. The blanks and handles are really nice, I just cannot get on with the 50mm ringing pattern, they seem very ott for a 10ft rod, i do question how these larger ring sets have come into carp fishing, is it purely fashion? Or transferred over from tournament casting perhaps.

Its fashion and price .A tournament casting rod is not a fishing rod i would,nt have 50s on a curtain pole never mind a fishing rod .

This 50 mm guide vs the rest has been done to death.
I much prefer my lower TC Rods with the smaller guides, but when I'm fishing 100 - 130 yards. 0.37 Mono straight through, I feel much more comfortable using 50's.
And I'd argue it's irresponsible not to when you're really smashing a heavy lead at extreme range.

He would,nt be buying the flex for those ranges ! Take a look at fuji new concept guide ringing.

I've been looking at getting a set of rods built as a wedding gift to myself.
Is there much of a difference in performance between the aviator 12.6 and the torrix 12.6 TE?

The aviator is in my opinion a much more responsive blank. Both similar in action with the aviator being a bit faster. It's probably got better carbon and I'm guessing better resin. It looks nicer as the tip is woven . To be honest both are fantastic.
