Just read that cygnet tackle is to be discontinued..Kent tackle got a sale on what tock they've got left albeit not much of a discount but worth looking out for other retailers clearing their stock

yes trakker have taken them over,thought it was strange they would run them as 2.seperate company's but obviously they're not.

Weird if you ask me... rebadge everything Trakker -must have cost a fair bit just to do that. They are associated with bivvies and luggage. They did end tackle before and it bombed, same with rods etc.

Can't imagine there are many people walking in the tackle shop with 125 quid looking to buy a carp rod who are coming out with one that's got trakker written on it, too many established names.

Exactly -end kit your going against Korda & Fox.
Rods- Daiwa, Harrison,Century etc...
Very hard to establish yourselves when your associated with certain types of kit already.

Trakker bought the Cygnet brand of Mick Nolan ten plus years ago I would of thought now. Which at the time were a company selling basically Bank sticks and buzzers. Overtime they morphed into a sort of entry level brand to go with trakkers my high end range selling luggage, shelters and end tackle. I would of thought mearging the two is probably a cost saving exercise is the long run.

Apparently Cypher are refreshing the Aqua range shortly as their "premium" brand and Trakker will be their bread and butter mid range label having incorporated Cygnet, (which lets face is was always budget).

Makes you wonder whist Korda were growing and using everything Trakker whether there was a gentlemans agreement not to piss on each others chips......but now Korda have expanded their range massively and are now direct competition for Cypher, (Korda even rumoured to be entering the bivvy market soon) the gloves are off..

Korda are doing a bivvy and a brolly apparently I'm not sure how true it is but they are using Aqua's material and JAG for the metal work 🤔

Only good for us if Korda are developing bivvies etc as they are more forward thinking than most others.

A brolly.. that will be interesting seeing as most company's don't have a brolly in there range anymore. Not to sure on one with stainless ribs though. It would weigh a ton..

Probably just a centre boss/block. Knowing how the Korda lads love a Tempest I would bet the Korda design for both bivvy and brolly will not be too dissimilar

if it lasts like the gear of old then people might not moan about the cost.

seen alot of people grumbling about some of the £££ bivvies and brollies still falling apart.

make something well and try not to pull peoples pants down it wont happen but we can dream.
i mean if they made a oval from the the old wavelock material i would get one
ok it would weigh the same as a car but it would last a LONG time

throw away society needs to change.

I wouldn't class my original 90's Cygnet pod as budget. One of the best made angling items I've ever bought.

yes Cygnet products have always been the very opposite of budget
everything they make that I have bought is really top quality

I had a grand sniper pod for my river carping around 13/14 years ago certainly not budget excellent quality
