Yeah they do. Dawn till dusk they are phenomenal, during the day they work but not great in scaring them inmo

Got one from eBay. Wanfare, it's exactly the same as the carp life one. Just make sure you get the highest lumens you can and it'll work fine in the day as well. Save yourself a few quid.

I've got a Vasfire(?) one. Hurts my eyes shining it onto objects 10ft away, has a concentrated green spot about the size of a tennis ball, then a less intense green haze around it. Not tried it yet, but if that doesn't do the job, the green laser which would probably get a knock from the old bill if I used that on the street would def do the job.

I'd be interested in how the carp tech one compares. A mate has the carplife one and it's v impressive - see them off even in the day

I've got a cheapy £15 special off ebay which has exactly the same housing as the Merkko and it works fine on tufties even in the day and at ranges up to about 50-60 yards . . .as soon as they get a flash they scarper. However it does not work on coots / mallards / canada geese / swans so you'll need a lazer as well . . .

Did you have any issues charging your torch, mine arrived today and after 6 hours of charging still won`t work?

I had trouble and didn't know if it was the batteries or the charger. Solved it by buying quality 18650 batteries and a new charger from Argos. It will charge two batteries at the same time.
