I must admit I'm tempted by the new K2 boilie from abs, garlic on the hydra k base if I'm reading it correctly. Anyone else seen or used it?
Or do I do what I think I should do and stick with the herb and a sting pop up?

I actually prefer the tricknut but the general consensus seems to be fishmeals catch the better fish, I've also got a france trip next year that is going to be a buy my bait at the lake type jobby, I'm thinking go over there and take some of the primer, empty the lot over the house bait to jazz it up a bit. Also I don't think I can cast out without a sting pop up at the moment they've been that good to me, saves postage going with one company.

My advice is take a few things you know work, but there is nothing wrong with trying a few baits!

Both reputable baits from reputable companies I very much doubt you would notice a major difference in catch rate from one to the other. If you have confidence in what your using stick with it as confidence is key and will put more fish on the bank.

I'm going to stick with tricknut, fed up of fishing with bait that smells horrible, tricknut smells bloody lovely. I've been doing well using it, probably be the first time in 5 years that I've reordered the same bait. Probably why I'm asking the question now, feeling like I'm missing out, social media makes your head spin.

if its anywhere near as good as Hydra K it will be awesome,

There are plenty of good bait companies out there producing bait that catch fish so not sure how it has taken 5 years to settle on a bait

Same can be said with people who have 20 different pots of hookbaits. Conversely if there are that many good companies why wouldn't you chop and change, one might be more suited to the lake you're on. Until you try you might think your current bait is the best ever.
Or maybe, like myself, I just like trying new stuff.

Interesting concept bait isn't it.
The amount of times I see lads having their best season ever on a bait, only to find them on something else next season. One year later they return saying that they wished they hadn't changed! It is our nature to look for something better each time especially when the other members get on the same bait!!
I don't ever need to swap baits as I'm completely confident on what I use but that won't stop me trying new things!
You do need a default setting especially when heading off to new venues (something I do a lot) and that's where you need to know that the fish will eat it.
The other thing is the lure of cheap bait.
A huge part of the angling world would settle for cheap gear no matter what it's made of but for the lads that I meet who are seriously into their angling and consistently catch bigguns focus heavily in the best boilies they can find and the same with their hookbaits

I'm a sucker for a 'new' bait to use but to be fair is it worth the money as it's a bit steep to be fair.

The Hydro K is a really good bait, the new bait is with Garlic added I have been told. I have used this company for a good few years now and will do in the future. I caught from day one on the Hydro K so will stick with that for now.
