Does anyone have the same the button on the brolly doesn't seem to come out so there's nothing to push in to let it down I have to fiddle around with it there is no firm click like others I had

Just had one delivered yesterday. Set it up and the button seems like it sticks out. Packing down it was not a big click but still obvious.

Mines the same, a little fiddly to release, it's the only minor annoyance I have with the brolly.
I Have the Solar Broilly also. great bit of kit but as you say, there is no positive "click" when the latch engages or disengages, and this is the one part of the brolly I realy dont like, I have very little faith in the latch, and find releasing this incredibly frustrating, and often ends in a lot of swearing at it

Thank you all for replying Thank god it's not just me Sounds like most are having same thing so I don't think it's a design fault just the way it works does everyone agree or not I had visions of having to send it back which is a real pain

Think you're right. Just the design of it. Putting it down I found I have to pull the boss down a bit once the button was pressed. Different to my old brolly which just went down on its own when the button was pressed. Also found when putting it up that you have to give it a good push to get it tensioned, more than my old one.
Off topic slightly, has anyone found a way to wrap up it nice and tightly?

Comes witha little strap doesnt it?
Push the mechanism up, to decompress it, then prsee the nutton, and it folds up. Not a lot more to it from what i can see. No positive click, but the way i know its folding, is when it captures me inside it

Exactly right push it up to take tension off the button
then simply press button easy peasy
same as I have done on every brolly its not rocket science FFS ?

Mine does have a strap, but I've found I need to use two, one mid way and one at the fat end to get it tightened down enough.
Saying that I've not had it out apart from the once when I got it so I'm sure the pack up will become more and more concise the more I use it.

I just put it up found out I have no strap to hold it together and no clip for porch pole either on this brolly

Wd40 can really be bad for some types of plastic. It's also not a lubricant, something like a silicone spray might be better.

Ffs how hard is it to wrap a brolly up?
I haven't used the strap for months, the bag is plenty big enough to get the brolly in just wrapped up, and I put a couple of lightweight tarps in there to use as a groundsheet too.

and I would guess ACTUALLY USED IT so much more on a weekly basis over a few seasons so is well qualified to give his opinion

Feel it's valid. He may have owned it longer than anyone and be well versed. But saying that people must be an idiot because they can't wrap it tight enough and that the bag is big enough without considering people may not want to use the bag and just store it as is in a quiver makes him come off a bit of a sausage I must say. A whole lot of gas for absolutely no reason. On a par with those that don't even own it like you say.

Fair enough if you want to stick it in a quiver, but there's always the risk of damaging the material or bending something.
Personally I always use the bag, you're carrying pegs etc anyway and I just find it a lot easier that way.

No one is contacting them about a strap if you read the posts it's just one of the things no strap no porch pole clip and a catch that does nothing use screw driver to release it and other person side poles to long starting to add up do you think
