So managed to lose a rod and reel in the lake for about 30 mins (don't ask how)but luckily managed to hook it up and retrieve it , reel now feels a bit rough what's best action to take will it need a service or what other things can I do,Reel was a tourney

Send it somewhere for a service for about 25£
Or do it yourself
I pulled a closed face reel and a winkle picker rod out of the Thames a lot of years ago
Cleaned it up and it was as good as new considering it was virtually seized up

Try taking the side cover off and put it in a sunny window for a few days is what I would do.

Might remove end cover and drain any water out , is it' ok to spray wd40 inside?

Removed back cover ,which allowed water to escape ,surprisingly some was still in ,removed rotar housing which allowed me to then remove side plate, regressed pinion and worm drive and. Coated bearings with oil ,was quite easy really and reel is now as good as new .

I'd be surprised if some water didn't manage to hide in the crevices and inside the bearing race, so even though you have added grease there may still be some corrosion occurring.
A complete strip, clean, dry with hair dryer until all metal parts are too hot to handle to force any residual moisture to evaporate, then cool and reassemble and lube.
