I'm looking for a barrow cover that will cover all my kit when traveling from the car to a peg but also for keeping the barrow and it's luggage bag dry when I'm set up save taking it back to the car.
I've looked at the JRC one but I'm going to return it as it's not ideal for what I'm looking for, realistically it's definitely got to have an elasticated hem.
The issue I have is my local tackle store don't have many in stock but will get them in for me, I just need to be sure I'm happy with the one I'm asking them to order.
Anyone recommend a cover? Any one used the Avid one?

I've got the carp-porter one on my power porter, does the job. You could also ask Army Andy, Edel Mayer or Midwater luggage to make one for you, I've used all 3 for various items and all have been top quality.

The Porter One I have isn't elasticated but done with a drawcord and toggle that tighens up depending on load. It is however big enough to cover a Nissan Micra and probably heavier than the barrow it's protecting. I keep in van for the biblical rain days!

Carp porter xl..with the bag to store on handles.
Covers everything with plenty to spare...
Fully tape sealed too.
Not cheap. But would replace mine if I lost it.

I just bought the Cult tackle one. It's absolutely tiny. Barely covers my bed hair, let alone anything else on the barrow, absolute junk. So I'm also looking for something bigger.
Trakker cover is spot on also elasticated alround plus it's big

As has been posted before the trakker one is only slightly larger than the standard carp porter one. You want the xl car porter as the other posters have said

I use an army poncho and some para cord, nice and light and pack's up small

mate of mine put me on the think anglers one...perfect for my mk2 porter
you could always get an Army Basha and some Tent Tarp Clips
I love my Basha its so versatile and with the clips you can make it fit anything !!

+1 for the Trakker cover - its massive, elasticated and covers rods and handles. You need something that goes on easy in a hurry . . .comes in a neat NXG sleeve

I use a Basha myself.
Most definitely has a variety of uses. I've used mine for covering the barrow, as an emergency shelter, and even as a swim fence between trees to keep Sky in the swim if I've let her off the lead on Nazeing.

That is similar to what I used to use years ago, but I used a motorcycle cover. It was only about £12 and elasticated around the edge. It was a bit big for the barrow but at least it covered everything with out messing about trying to make it fit.
And when I was winter fishing, I would use it keep my holdhall and anything else dry outside of the bivvy well wrapped up as I would keep the barrow down one side of the bivvy inside and could use it as a table etc and my bed would be down the other side.

So many uses...other day I was under a little fifty inch brolly and wrap,was a tight swim..anyway..put rod sleeves and other stuff under it..Great kit ,no carp tax ,and probably outlast my fishing career .

my Basha saved my bacon
I went on a 3 week French trip and went to get my shelter out of the car I realised I never packed it
I drove to the nearest Decathlon store about 40 miles away and the cheapest shelter was a Fox Evo this was the original one back in 2009
well it was ok for 3 days then a bloody big storm came in but I managed to make with the aid of some para cord plus 2 x 48" storm poles and my basha a huge porch area that kept my double burner stove bait boat and everything completely dry and later the following week when temps hit mid 30s a lovely shaded area
now I never ever go fishing without my Basha

A great tale there Gerry ...like yourself I carry mine everyday, it stays in my 4x4 all the time...
I remember buying a JRC contact bivvy, nice bit of kit I thought ,then it rained ,not biblical just steady down pours ...sadly this brand new bivvy leaked ,and all over my sleeping bag as well...
So I dug out the Basha,...put it over the bivvy ..saving the session.as well..it actually made a decent little condo cap for the shelter..anyway minute I got in dried it off ,sent it back ..
Basha = session savers...
