I need a power barrow for a new syndicate this year.
Apart from Nash , porter, or the upgrade kits, does anybody know of any manufacturers that are releasing one and if soonish ? Don't want to pull the trigger now if something improved on the horizon.

To be honest, between Nash, Carp porter and Fox, not really sure what else you'd need? Those companies pretty much have everything covered off already.
There aren't that many ways of improving them.
From talking to guys on my syndicate, it seems that the more modern wheel-based motors, like the Nash or BCUK/Global seem to be very good.

Didn't know Fox did power barrows?
Being a Nash Power Metro owner I am biased and for my needs it works perfectly - I've even been using it instead of my (non powered) Porter Lite for smaller waters / less gear because its so easy to use and versatile in terms of being able to handle small / big loads
Its also well designed with the power unit being secure and all the cabling running within the framework, however if I was on a budget I'd be looking at the conversion kits (which other than the well designed Nash Battery compartment) are arguably as good if not better (more powerful motor options etc)
Going to get shot here but personally think Power Porters have had their day - whilst still a great product (I've test driven several owned by others) they are heavy / bulky and OTT for most real-world UK use. You need to look at the waters you're likely to fish / the gear you need to lug and spend your £ accordingly . . .

I looked long and hard at Nash & Carp Porter (Pre-Korda) and ended up with the Power Porter (pricing was pretty similar between the two at the time).
The PP is not small by any means, but I have the space for it & there are occasions where I need to take the inflatable boat, motor & battery so it's worth it for that. The bit that closed the debate for me was the longevity, if anything went wrong with it (I treat my gear pretty roughly on the whole, lugging around a steep concrete reservoir so it takes a beating) I could replace the part with the Carp Porter vs having to replace the whole thing with the Nash version.
That being said, I don't think there's a big enough gap between either to say one is better than the other, it was worth every penny IMO

Design and tech in the CP is out of date, look at what the barrow conversion companies offer, korda will follow, you've bought yesterday's technology

I think if you have a perfectly good barrow then a power conversion kit from the people that have been doing it longer than anyone else with brilliant aftersales
and is the way to go my Global Angling Kit is plug and play I fitted it in under 45 mins amazing quality
and saved myself a fair few hundred quid if ever there should be any problems pick the phone up and unlike some company's that put you in promised land .......... it GETS SORTED

Yeah I agree. If someone already has a decent barrow it's seems very wasteful to buy another powered version if it can be upgraded with a kit that's essentially the same thing but for hundreds of pounds less.

Yes I have,on a water I'm on its quite a steep grass bank all the way to the carpark.The Nash did well on it to be fair but the PP seemed to just handle it easier.The customer service from PP now is also spot on,the Nash is a nice bit of kit though

Currently have an explorer. Will have a think but it is a bit small and wanted rear wheels due to bad back.
New barrow and a conversion kit could be the one.

There's often mk2 porters for sale on FB marketplace. Maybe you might be lucky and get a cheap good condition one to bolt on a conversion kit, selling the explorer to off set the change.

I have an Explorer too and Global Angling supplied the motor kit and also rear wheels they are out of stock of the rear wheels at the moment BUT!!!
this normally only lasts a short while and back in stock

yes the rear wheels are really really wide apart making it super stable
thats actually caused me a problem as it now makes it way to wide to get thru my garden gate and yes the rubber handle problem on the Fox explorer is easily solved by a ratchet strap across the handle`s cranked up tight
but the best ever solution if you can find some ? as they are a straight slide in fit the exact size MK2 FAT BOY CROSS BAR HANDLES

I did my own using the kit from Ali express. All the same stuff which is on the nash barrow , thumb throttle , powered wheel and brushless motor , although nash wheels are 250w I went for the 350w wheel for more power , all fitted to my mk2 fat boy , works and pulls an absolute treat and all for just shy of £200
