Hi All, I have some of the above but can't seem to change the LED colour on all 3 of them. I push and hold the function button, turn the tone button to the desired colour and release the button but 2 seconds later the alarms LED flash quite a few times and goes back to purple?

Any ideas?

All sorted.....

When you release the button I then pushed it in 2-3 times quickly and it set the colours just fine.......

Anyone know what the battery life is like for the alarms and the receiver?

Shouldn't make any difference the electronics are potted in Epoxy resin.

I bought some Ace alarms from France several years ago when they were on offer. Loved all the features etc but they kept failing to sound when I had a run. They would work 90% of the time and then fail for short periods. They went back to Felindre (Shimano) on three occasions and in the end even they admitted defeat so I got my money back from France. Real shame because I really liked them!

I was under the impression there was an unofficial MK1 and Mk2.......

Mine are pure stainless with no black at all......

Bought My i3 alarms off Max Cottis at Rainbow a long time ago now along with a mate of mine who knew him very well they were straight out the back of his 4x4, my mate had nothing but trouble with his, several head replacements that would lose pairing and not reconnect, receiver replacements as they would just die on the spot several niggley faults with them but always repaired or replaced, mine were faultless and I paid Max trade which from memory was under 400 quid for 4 heads and a receiver, sold mine to a Dutch collector mate he has all sorts of alarms reels etc..they sit in a glass cabinet these days not even getting used.

Yeas I know I took it apart and as you say re circuit is totally encased in resin but after a night of rain one alarm did not work properly, once it eventually dried out it worked properly again

With the circuit encased in resin it does not guarantee it's waterproof unless all in one PCB in a sealed IP rated case.

It's likely their are flying leads off the PCB to the battery pack and the various sensor inputs which are routes for water ingress.

Unfortunately the encapsulation (obviously) wasn't always perfect, but in most cases it was.

Does anyone have any idea what size or how you would describe the internal locking nut for alignment on the buzz bars as I have one missing!!......

Try compression bushing

If you not bothered about nylon rubber etc
A 10mm bore should just clear the 3/8 bolt

Have you opened it up Wayne? I cannot remember now if the bolt was standard type head or a T-bolt head sat in the moulded housing, either way you want a 3/8 BSF threaded bolt with the right type of bolt head.

Hi, no I haven't and have just used a rubber O Ring to get it lined up nicely. It's fine so will leave it as it is......cheers though.....

You may well have later versions of the i3 alarms then as I bought mine from Max literally a couple of weeks after the initial launch, they had plastic collars with a rubber compression pad or someone has sourced some and added them aftermarket.

There is this type of thing available
