Can anyone give me an honest review on this stuff please
I've had the gardner black noir on for a while now and it's not too bad but I'm convinced it doesn't completely sink to the bottom all the way out , watched it in the margins takes ages to hit the deck and that's pre soaked. I really don't want to go back to the xline if I can help it, too much maintenance for my liking.
Does it sink well?

It's an excellent braid that sinks well, and is very abrasion resistant. The dye doesn't come off it unlike certain other braids! The downside is that it isn't a great caster, but certainly up to 80 or 90 yards or so, it's OK.

Korda sub braid sinks exceptionally well, just another option for you.

Not bothered about distance, just want it to hit the deck without having to dip the tips and speed it up which i hate doing. I always cast out wet anyway.
I fish a really weedy lake with walls of it from top to bottem full of little sharp snails and gravel bars everywhere so definitely need braid . With mono I had to keep getting the boat out but with braid the fish eventually come in . Just need this sbx I reckon as it supposedly sinks fast.

Been using the sbx since the autumn, found it excellent so far. As stated it won't do distance but its incredibly heavy when wet and sinks like an anchor, great colours and its nice and supple too. I've only had 1 wind knot so far which was 100% user error and it was a doddle to pick out due to its texture and diameter. Tried the Avid which was a great all rounder as it cast well and sank well but the colours were a bit bright for my liking, sub braid was excellent too but it does suffer with colour loss so the sbx is the pick of the bunch for me providing long range work isn't required.

In your circumstances, SBX would be perfect tbh. I mainly use the Avid one as I lot of the fishing I do is in the 90 to 130 yard range and it is a brilliant caster, but for short range stuff then I would choose SBX every time

Is it definitely thicker than the gardner? The gardner states 0.35 and the sbx 0.34 ?

The SBX is the best line I have ever used. If distance is not an issue then it is the one 100%, you will not be disappointed mate.

I've used sinking braids from Korda and Gardner in the past, and this stuff genuinely beats them hands down.
It sinks very well, it retains it's colour better than any other braid that I've used, knot strength is excellent with the right knot, and it's just ridiculously strong.

been on sbx since last summer fishing a very weedy lake ,having used korda subbraid which bleached out very quickly ,i moved over to this stuff ,cant fault it sinks like a brick and keeps its colour,plus ive heard they are bringing out a thinner one aswell, which i will purchase asap. buy with confidence.

I think the sbx is actually 0.49mm
what everyone using now? the 25lb or the 40lb
Been using in 40lb - nothing negative to say at all.

I love mine but wonder if the 25lb would cast a lot further, the diameter isn't very different but if I could cast maybe 27 wraps I would change over..

Iv been using the .35 ridgemonkey braid . It's very strong and sinks really well iv found . Again not great for casting but good for short medium range in weedy conditions

Avid stuff doesn't fade fast. Think I've had mine on around 3yrs now and it's faded but only slightly.

Well its less like tow rope for starters, has a good colour to it and it casts very well, I've had it up to 100 yards so far, seem to casts just as well when I don't bother wetting it, usually wet it for first cast of the trip but after that don't bother.

Gardner noir is awesome i love it cannot see a better braid imo it sinks, casts behaves on the spool. Ive had fish instantly since i been using it.
