Doesn't look like it. Looks like they are fixed in place by grub screws and fit the recesses. You have to buy new bars if you want to change the width. Lot of weight to carry and faff to be able to adjust the width. Badly executed idea I think

Looking at that picture again I think you are right. Agreed, I think that's a mistake, but obviously geared to buying more bars to keep the JAG coffers rolling in.

Some credit is due to JAG for trying to make something different and not just copy the interlock or custom angling adjustable kits. It's not my bag but it's at least their own design and idea.

No the heads stay on the buzzers so just a new bar length needed. You can change to a 2 rod/1 rod setup for those that don't want to unscrew buzzers each time as well.
There are other very good systems on the market (Cyp/custom/Jag plus one etc) that will change the width as adjustable and enable the buzzers to stay on. If that's what people want we would recommend them.
All about choice! As I said we understand it's not going to change carp fishing. Pretty good looking though 😎

The 2+1 bars are great if you chop and change waters that have two or three rod limits. Like I do a lot. Or if you fish the sort of waters where some swims are better with a rod on a single stick from time to time.
The way I see these is that they would suit someone who is maybe moving on to a water for a season so you set them up once at home then leave them as is. I'm not sure that's how they were designed but I don't think many people will be using an Allen key on the bank. Better done at home before you set off.
There's lots of comments on here from people asking what size bars to use with their particular reels as some like them super tight (Essex folding handle brigade) and others a wider spread (Katie Price). With this system you can buy the bars that suit your particular preferences (I don't mean a preference for ladyboys like braders)
This gives people the option to have a much more customisable set up. I personally think this will be the real selling point over the ability to switch rods on and off. Plus lots of people don't like adjustable bars and prefer the simplicity of fixed bars but don't want to be limited to maybe just a couple of fixed lengths that are in most ranges and having to make do. This way you can taylor your bar width to the reels and even the luggage you use and obviously the smaller fixed prolight version will weigh next to nothing.

I bought a set. Single sticks, 3 rod bars, 2 rod adapter and the other gubbins came to £160 with discount.
I think people are missing the point slightly of what a collaboration tends to be about. I wouldn't have bothered with Jag stuff, but I've always been a fan of the Sub print. The bars are a bit different and I like the design. Others won't. I don't need them or want them to do anything special, for me they will be a nice thing to own and use.
I don't think the idea was to re-invent the buzz bar, and if people think they are overpriced then they don't have to buy them.

It's all to expensive like you have to buy a pk of 6 lockdown inserts to use one and one pk per rest so that's 10 not used 3 rod 15 not used

The JAG Gear is really nice kit and they'd go nicely with my Excavators and State Stands, but I've already got the Custom Angling Modular Bars so I'll probably just stick with them for now as the Sub x JAG don't offer anything extra!

Genuine question, but why do people need to a adjust a buzz bar width? Is it just for smaller pack down?
I had Neville swan necks for years, Defiant MPS titanium, Solar and now got a set of these on the way. Never felt the need to adjust a buzz bar width a few inches each way.

I'm yet to find a a set up with a rod or reel that doesn't work with a 10” buzz bar. In this case I went 11” as that was the option. Why do you need to adjust for different set ups?

On top of that Adjustable are usually a bit chunkier and I prefer that.

Fair enough. I can't say the amount of air between my reels when sat on a rest takes up much of my headspace while fishing, but we all go for different reasons.
