Has anybody had any orders from Barrs Angling recently?
I placed an order early last week and expected it by now, as it says 3-5 days for delivery.
Over the past 3 days I've emailed them, messaged them, and left a message on their voicemail, but still no response

I ordered leads a few weeks back for my French trip and they came fine, with the free particle they were offering. Heard a few negative comments but to date I have never had an issue with them

Just had a text message now from DHL to say they are to be delivered today, but not much good to me as I'm packed and gone.
If they had of said, "I'm sorry but we will be late with delivery" that'd be fine. At least then I could get something to get me by without having to rush about like an idiot

So your issue is with the courier not Barrs?

Sounds like the issue is with the communication with barrs

Thats the problem, you don't get any at all these days. When they first started out they were great but now they have signed a few so called names and got a couple of big contracts they have forgotten about the small customers

Barrs still have responsibility ensure the goods get to the customer, and to communicate the status if for whatever reason the courier has f*cked it up.

Sorry? It is a genuine post, why shouldn't it be? My delivery was not 3-5 days as stated so I tried to contact them via all methods. No reply to email, or voicemail, so I posed the question on here, as many would have

As soon as I had heard from the couriers, I posted I had heard from the couriers, so what's your problem?

I've had a very recent bad experience with Barrs and I'm now trying to obtain repayment of the sum paid.

No delivery despite numerous promises and several lame excuses.

I've written three emails, issued 6 texts and had numerous phone calls with Barrs and all to no avail.

It now appears that Andy isn't interested in the business and Dave refuses to answer the phone or emails

I've also noted that the Facebook page is purged of negative comments on a regular basis, horrible company.

With the negativity around Monster lately it is perfectly feasible that someone from the Monster set up would come on here to spread some negativity on their competitors.

Calm down

I've had similar experience with Monster too, and won't be ordering from them again either. Rather pay that bit more elsewhere for satisfactory service

I have had trouble with orders not coming on time when I said it was urgent. Then trying to get an answer on the phone is really hard..
I love the fresh hemp that arrives frozen, I think it is really good quality (used to be £1.00 a kilo but £1.50 now.
The customer service used to be brilliant but not now.

I've been using barrs for around 2/3 years now for leads and particle.
In that time I must of had 20+ orders, never had one issue with either quality or delivery.
Highly recommended from me.

Barr's communication has always been non existent in my experience, the order just turns up usually 7- 10 days later, the products are however ok. Ain't no different than other lead suppliers like MP Leadshed who were recommended on this forum.

Had a couple of issues with Barrs . The first time whilst ordering some particle with free leads the leads didn't turn up . After several messages sent with no reply I eventually got hold of them on the phone (twice) . They assured me they'd send them but they never did turn up . Second time back in the spring they had an offer on when you spend x amount , get 5kg of particle free . The leads turned up but no free particle . To be fair to them this time when I rang they apologised and sent them out next day . I do wonder sometimes whether when they put these offers on that they get a bit overwhelmed and find it difficult to keep up .

I have now received a refund from Barrs but like previous posts, trying to find a reliable particle supplier is difficult.

Used them for years, they are located a couple of miles from me, but communication is near impossible. Sent them emails earlier this year without response, nobody answered the phone and they deleted my face book enquiry.
