For fishing at distance with braid mainline and braid shock leader what end tackle would you advise ? Braid leader is .37mm. Heli ? Tubing & lead clip ?
I would still want a foot of tubing over any braided leader to protect the fish.

use a flouro leader, lead clip and no tubing. less clutter the better.

To get max distance use a heli set up with Gemini ARC clip down lead 4-5 oz with 6-8ins hook length and as said the smallest bait you can sensibly use. Fish with tight lines and heavy bobbins. If you going for ultimate range you have to compromise in other areas. Particularly bait choice and bite indication

I would actually go for a heavier hookbait like a bottom bait. Less chance of a tangle with a heavier bait. if its a small light bait its got more chance of flailing around and tangling up
or just fish a choddy

Quite a bit of conflicting advice although lead clips seem to be favoured in majority of posts.
So on a leader of some sort (fluro, leadfree or leadcore ?) or with short length of tubing on the braid shockleader ?
Another leader would ofcourse mean another knot which is not preferable I guess ?

How far are we talking? What about a little PVA bag, in-line lead and 10 inches of tubing over the braid leader? That should go miles.

IMO there is no way that any setup should be considered where there is any chance of the braided leader coming into contact with the fish. Short lengths of tubing just don't provide enough protection.

This is not intended to be provocative but what do you use for hook lengths? Mono, fluoro or coated braids. I don't even use braid for spodding these days

How short? With 10” of tube you're going to also have 6” of rig then a couple of inches of lead and tail rubber. All in about 18-20 inches from hook to top of tubing?

I think that with any braided leader you need at least a foot of tubing covering it.
Personally I would think about going back to a 30lb Amnesia leader, your casting drop and 4 or 5 turns on the reel. With mono (or fluoro) you can go naked.
In terms of distance, a helicopter set-up should give you maximum distance, but as I've said elsewhere, bite indication is reduced. My choice is a run ring and running lead, even if you have to fish tight line, but a lead clip may suit you.
Inline leads do not cast as far as helicopter or pendant set-ups.
Use as short a rig as you can get away with, mono, fluoro or coated braid. Uncoated braids may have a tendency to tangle.
Bait, as small as you can. Bigger baits, more air resistance
