Just wondering if anybody can suggest any carp lakes with basic pods/huts. Looking on the Internet there seems to be lots of luxury lodges at silly money but I would like somewhere basic where me and the wife can go - she is not keen on bivvies yet! I've stopped in the cabin at Trent View which is great and also those at Fairview. Preferably north to Midlands. Cheers.

Baden Hall has the basic cabins I believe. If you come a little further south you have Spring Rock, Acorn, Cefn Mably and White Springs

There's also Home Farm Fishery in Alsager (Cheshire), they have huts. Probably need to check the sizes to make sure they're doubles. Also, during Covid, Baden Hall closed their huts, not sure if they're open or not now, worth checking if considering this
If you want something a bit more upmarket for the good lady wife, there's Whelford Pools in the Cotswolds. They have a few lakes, but they have one with a "basic" accommodation on Barley Pool. Sort of between a hut and a log cabin. Only £90 a night during weekdays, £110 at the weekend. Not bad for a lake exclusive for up to 4 amglers.

Bit judgemental,
I use them when my other half wants to go away for the weekend, ideal, you can take a nice big air bed and sleeping bag, weekend away and you get to fish.

Don't know what price your looking at for a stay but Countryside Cabins at Moreton Jeffries have various cabins at various rates from 150 to 190 based on a minimum 2 night stay but that seems about the going rate these days, Outpost or Crabtrees would be the best bet for a chance of a 20 plus then any of the others for sport, I had some dealings about 15 years ago with the owner Simon was looking at taking three of the lakes on but it didn't get off the ground my sister became terminally ill at the time and I couldn't give it the time it required, Simon then put cabins around all the lakes a few years ago, a 4x4 is a wise choice of vehicle especially for the outpost which is along the headlands of fields running down to a dingle of woods if its been wet you could struggle getting out.
