I'm looking for a new unhooking matt. It has to be one with the padded sides so fish can't slide out of it. As a rule on my club we have to have one. I've got a chubb one at moment. Apart from the zips that seem to always break and don't seem strong enough it's a decent size and the padding not bad. But I've now had 3 of these chubb ones and the zips have broken on all of them . So what ones do you guys go for ? The gardener ones I don't like the look of as to small and the fox pop up style type I don't like the look of. The matt has to be a decent size and we'll padded. Got up to about £80 to £100 to spend on one

The gardener one looks small,which gardener one you looking at.I thought the gardner asylum mat looks big

Not shore what one it is. It packs up into a square type carrier bag. Few of the guys on my lakes have them and thay just seem to small for what I need. Not saying thay are rubbish but just need something bigger

Avid do 2 mats with sides that seem to pack up decent. Worth a look

Club I'm in has that rule but let you use the drawstring type ones. Like the esp one. I've got the Cotswold one. Is decent but huge

I looked at the avid ones on I think ebay. Looked good mates. Fot thay where asking £199 for the xxl size. Would that be a miss print ? As seemed a lot of money

At the moment both are holding strong. I've got the forge tackle, my mate the fox one 😉

Chub Xtra Protection Cradle if you can get one but got a horrible feeling they have been discontinued.

I have an aqua cradle it flat packs down and has mesh for drainage as well got it from J Ross half price £80 I think

They are enormous packed down, to the point its probably better to leave it set up and put stuff in it. Take an age to dry as well

Nothing wrong with fox pop up cradles -light, packs away reasonably small & keep carp safe- no issue.

Not enormous as someone else said but they are a large, well padded unhooking mat so it is hard to get something compact without compromising on quality...

Its huge if left as it comes in the bag but if separated and folded as shown on Trakker video with the outer put under the retaining flap its no bigger than a large flat mat.

Shop around for best price, but I have a Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Mat.
It is huge, fills up the Golf Hatchback boot, on top of my trolley, day chair, but also doubles as a trolley carryall.

Yes, I got mine as a subsidised angler, but honestly it is one I would choose myself.
It has had the abuse of a couple of years use, pike to over 20lb, and carp to 30lb.
