Per the title, wondering if anyone has or has had this bivvy and got any feedback? Looking at a decent sized 1 man bivvy (or smaller 2 man) for a few French trips I have lined up and came across this on TFT at a very good price. Ideally don't want to spend a fortune as will use my brolly for all my UK fishing but open to other suggestions

Mate of mine has the Mk11 dual layer with peak quite heavy but very spacious for a 1 man some nice touches big rear vent and padded side tension bars for rod retention 👍

Not the same bivvy, but I had the Tardis RT from Avid and would not buy another Avid shelter again.
The design was good, the quality of the fabric was ok but the first one I had two of the pegging eyes fell out first time out. Got it replaced from the shop I bought it from no problem. The next one lasted about 6 months and one pegging eye and the eye that the main rear tension bar fits in went.
The mozzie mesh they use also went brittle, cracked and started falling apart after the first winter.

Everything avid make falls apart,I even had a marker float break into two pieces on a cast.Everything I have had from them has broke and had to go back to the tackleshop.I think avid stands for Another Visit Is Due,as they know you are going have to go take your item back

I have an Avid Transit X and luggage which are several years old and in as good as new condition, I do look after my kit. The Restbite was/is a decent bedchair I had the Benchmark which after tightening the elastic a couple of time over a few years caused the main frame to bend ever so slightly.

Totally agree. I laughed so much at a mate of mine a few months ago. He gets his avid stuff cheap and during a single session a leg snapped on his bedchair, the hinge fell apart and he ripped 3 pegging points on his bivvy. He also lost a fish because his bag stem swivel came apart. Utter utter pap. All in one 3 day stint

I've got a couple of bits from avid which have lasted very well. Better than any fox crap I've bought that's for sure....

Fox do some decent end tackle. decent rods, the reels have a bit of a following.

Yes other bits are crap but Ive maybe seen two companys where that isnt the case, everything else is a case of some good some bad

Fox alarms are about the only Fox gear I have as I agree most of their other gear is pretty poor and overpriced. Back to the original question, Avid Ascent, no reviews of that bivvy but the general consensus is that their gear is a bit crap so best to avoid?

I'd avoid avid on an important bit of gear also, I've got an avid mat and that's been fine but nothing to really go wrong on that I suppose... I also had an avid a spec chair which was really comfy for months until it broke and they didn't want to know. Avoid.
