Just picked up some Syncro XT loaded on recommendation from the tackle shop but looking at reviews it gets very coiled up, anyone had issues with this before I go and spool up?

I never had and issues to be honest but plenty on here have. Switched over to the non-loaded version a couple of years ago (as local shop did not have the loaded in stock) and to be honest it does perform better all round so stuck with that ever since

It is not as well behaved as the ordinary synchro but it does sink better and is as tough as old boots. If you are casting distances I think you will be disappointed but if you are only fish up to 80 yards I think you will like it.
One it's wet it is a much better line, it only really coils when it's dry on the spool.

It is a good line that does exactly what it says, just give it a splash of water and away you go. I think that is the cause of a lot of the negative reviews, they just haven't worked that out.

It's a decent line, but I prefer the xt.

Save yourself the agg - bin/return it, spool up with regular XT and put it down to experience! Personally casts like a pig as well IMHO

The coating etc on the loaded and normal versions are exactly the same now i think the wireyness comes from the darker dye used in the loaded version possibly. If you take 2 identical pieces of material and dye one light, one dark, the darker one will always feel stiffer

I've been using the loaded for a couple of years and fairly happy with it . I've just bought a spool of the standard (not loaded) version to try as everyone really rates it - just hope it sinks ok !

I've been using the XT loaded on one rod and have no complaints so far. It sinks well and cast pretty well (compared to the flourocarbon I was using anyway). I only purchased it as the on-site tackle shop didn't have the normal XT when I wanted to try that. Many seem to rate the normal version over the loaded version.

The loaded is a different line its not just the dye
thats why it breaks lower than the normal and sinks a lot faster Ive used both
and IMHO the disadvantages out way the slight advantage of it sinking faster and slightly better

I didn't say they were the same lines Gerry just that dark dyes naturally make materials including braids stiffer. I did on the other hand say the coatings are the same on the lines as this was directly from dave at esp, the reason i mentioned this was the coatings or finish can have a major impact on the usability of the line

I have always used the Loaded XT and didn't understand oldgeezer, who said it doesn't behave well. I always used 18LB though. This year, I picked up a spool of 15LB and have to say it was absolutely terrible compared to what I was used to. So much so that I have re-spooled with the regular XT after only two sessions.
Still waiting to test it, but pretty confident it will be fine.

I'm going back to the 15lb xt,like an idiot I had my head turned by the new TA OGX line.What a mistake that was,the OGX is not even close to the XT,it does not cast,sink or behave anywhere near as good as the XT.Im sat on the bank now and just had all the line bunch up for no reason at all,had to strip 30 yards off and start again.At the weekend it's coming off and back onto 0.37mm XT,the best mono on the market imo

Is that the 18lb Tony?
Never used XT but not had any of those problems with the OGX so far (fingers crossed). Was a GR60 stalwart for a few years and prefer it to that.

Yes it is the 0.37 same as the esp xt at 15lb.I have never had a mono do that in all the years I have been fishing
