I purchased one of the jag one pults, as im fed up of having catapults break, then spending time trying to thread the elastic over the mounting points.
Anyway, does anyone else find it causes more injuries to their hands than other pults on the market, or is it just me?

I left my catapult in the van at the other end of the lake and had to borrow one of these Jag ones. Horrible thing to use.

Jag kit is so far advanced that the hand slap from the pouch is when your baiting on someone else's spot or putting bait where there are no carp present, it's not written anywhere but it would be the response if you asked 100%

Agreed, solved mine with a gardner contraption that is neoprene and slots over the grip, almost like a soft padded guard.

Was regularly baiting a lake last winter with the jag pult, fudge me the first night I baited I had to wait for a guy to go home, my hands were numb and I got to experience the delights of the one pult. I literally could have cried. I took it out again a few nights later, again it was freezing cold and I clattered my fingers. Omg how I didn't throw up I don't know.

Probably the most expensive pult on the market, yet people have to spend MORE money to avoid an issue which should have been sorted prior to release

Bought one of these when they first came out i had high expectations as most jag stuff I own is of the highest quality all be it on the expensive side.
My findings were hit knuckles worse than any of other catapults I own,
My cheap drennan catapult out performs the soft elastic in every way,
The Korda heavy elastic catapult also performs better in everyway to the heavy elastic jag do
They should stick to bank sticks and metalware this is without question the worst catapult I've ever owned

Righto chaps, I rarely post here anymore as it doesn't seem to do me any favours but feel I need to in this instance. If you are able to follow my attempt to explain how best to use the onepult you should totally eliminate knuckle slaps and get the best for range and accuracy. It's all in the hand that holds the frame. Extend and lock your arm holding the frame, then only after this pull back the pouch. The most important thing is to keep the frame as rigid as possible when releasing the pouch. Do this well and zero knuckle slaps, you then get the best out of the pult and it's unique features. Repeatably doing this soon becomes second nature and is a far better way to use any catapult, check out American slingshots, these guys take it to another level. I fully accept it isn't the easiest pult to get use to but when used with the rigid frame technique it does everything from accurate single 10 millers to balls of ground bait and changed within seconds.
If you really can't get the hang of it you can always use the frame and latex but connect any pouch in the conventional way by connecting via top eyelets. You can't quick change pouches but can still quick change elastics with pouches attached to the frame. With a conventional pouch it is way more forgiving just like all the other catapults, just not as versatile because you cannot quick change pouches.
I really hope this helps you see what the onepult is capable of and stops any sore hands. Oh, another thing to note, because you can quickly attach any combo of latex to pouch you still need to balance latex strength to payload weight. For example, the small pouch and super heavy latex is not balanced as payload is way too light for the power in the latex, this will cause knuckle slap no matter how well you hold the frame.

I think the design looks great. And is truly innovative
The fact that it takes more effort not to frap your hands
doesn't surprise me though due to the roundabout way the latex
Is threaded.

First time I've seen this catapult.
I like the quick on/off elastic idea but when it does break there seems a lot of wasted rubber.
It won't take long before you have to change the complete elastic and I'm guessing they don't come cheap.
And yes I am a tight arse

Most catapult rubbers perish at the very ends where they attach to either the frame or the pouch and are stressed, looking at things this might be eliminated at the pouch ends so it may actually save elastic.
Only time will tell.
It looks to me like any suitable elastic can be substituted for the Jag stuff.

I can catagorically state that this catapult is the worst piece of carp fishing equipment I have ever bought.... And I've bought some rubbish before let me tell you.
One frame... Two different pouches... Three different grades of elastic.
All combinations end up with bait all over the floor and in the lake everywhere apart from where I want it.
Soo dissatisfied as I'm a real jag fanboy... However this lot is going on ebay tomorrow.

I have found mine much better since putting the blue elastic on and following the advice in this thread. The black elastic was pony.

I love Jag gear but this is by far the worst catapult I've ever used . I thought it was me but plenty of others with issues .

Big fan of jag but I just couldn't get on with mine and gave it away as a consequence and many others on my water have said the same

I've figured it out slightly... If I put the medium pouch and Blue elastic on and extend my arm to where i want to aim... Then draw the elastic back and watch the pouch instead of watching the catapult... It works... Far from ideal though and the only way I can figure out so all the bait doesn't fall out on the floor.

Totally agree. Great catapult in some ways but rendered useless by hurting like hell and drawing blood on most occasions I have used it.
