Looking to get a new barrow getting sick of pushing my mk2 porter about and can't decide wich one to get any one got any reviews on either one thanks

Prestige are working on a mk2 powerporter or you could look at getting a Global Angling Products kit for your barrow.If they do a puncture proof tyre I will be getting one,their customer service is very good

Global angling products have great customer service and I can vouch for there kit also. Been faultless since I got mine, very easy to get set up also.

What's the difference between the standard power wheel they do and the energise one they do and are they easy to fit

The Nash Ian a 250 watt wheel hub be interesting what Global use, I have the 350 watt 24v wheel hub. I'm still putting mine together mind so it's a labour of love. The global products gets great reviews.
Despite mine taking sometime

Functions
On/off (could be keyed)
Battery Indicator.
Throttle
Cruise control - paramount dealing with unsteady ground (makes life easier).
Reverse, having hit roots of trees and having to reverse and take a run up. Maybe null and void anyway.
Regenerative breaking the damping effect of the motor being used as a generator
Lights just in case.
And because I fancied prating about.

I have a 24v Prestige PP MK6 bought in 2017. It's had one set of replacement batteries in that time.
I saw the Nash one at the NAS a couple of years ago and personally I wasn't impressed. The frame felt cheap and not very sturdy to me. If mine vanished tomorrow, I'd be back on to Prestige in a flash TBH - just my opinion, I appreciate others may think differently.

I took a good look at the Nash power barrow and it looked reasonable, for me I like the project of putting one together. I'm sure the prestige power does the job well plenty of people have one.

My wheel frame for my avid transit is with global now, they have to weld there bracket on it and fit the wheel. Hopefully get it back next week to test out.

Pretty sure the global one is a 350watt motor. Lipo battery that's good for 15km (long range) took me 10 minutes to put together. I can't fault it, on top speed it was pulling me up hill through mud and **** last weekend and that was with a 25kg sack of salt on top of all my kit.

How much weight approx does it add ?
I've Mk2 fatboy
I normally leave my barrow bag loaded (old type that stays fixed with clips etc) and just remove handles and lift in car to save disassembling it all

I haven't owned a prestige power porter but have owned 3 other carp porters orignal, mk2 and mk4 i thought my nash barrow was stronger and better built than any of my carp orters which is why i converted that one, i dont know what the newer nash barrows are made like

Very minimal, battery and control unit I'd be surprised if they weigh a kilo.. wheel is probably twice as heavy as your usual carp porter wheel but your not ever going to lift it other than putting it in the van. I just popped the batter and controller in a Korda compac waterproof tackle bag thing and dumped the lot in my barrow bag with the usual bits that live in there

Used my Power Porter 2022 24V POWER PORTER MK8 all terrain for the first time yesterday. It has 3 wheels, the back 2 are not the chunky ones.
I absolutely love it. Folds away nicely and powerful even on slopes. The controls are really good.
I'd never go back to a normal barrow.

Ive had power porters for a while now and I genuinely think once you have used one you wont go back, I also think the conversions that are now available are great and its good to see that there are more options available nowdays.
In regards to the original question PP or Nash power
Ive had Carp porter Mk5 and upgraded to a mk7 24v in more recent times and both were great and performed admirably (I have a caddy and just drive it on and off the van) so it stayed assembled and the only issue I had was with the older style controil unit burning out which prestige replaced with the newer one and punctures on the rear wjheels - I brough the puncture proof versions which are a great addition
Ive also got a nash metro barrow that I picked up before xmas - Its performed admirably but I dont think its fair to compare to the Prestige versions (its basically a porterlite with power from Nash) Ultimately the metro is a streamline barrow for short sessions or people who dont take loads with them - it doesnt have sides or a Y bar - but for what its meant to do its been great!!!
I found if I took the prestige id take more kit if I take the Nash I take what I needs
The positioning of the battery on the nash is definitely better over the wheel and out of the way, the under bags on the nash are better and more useable than the ones on my prestige BUT I think the wiring and connection points are miles better on the prestige - what I mean by that is connecting/disconnecting the wires to remove the handles as an example feels very delicate on the nash whereby the prestige was pretty solid and I worry that I will damage the pins on the nash
Additionally the charger that you get on the nash one feels cheap and isnt very clear on how to use it where as the prestige version is
Also the Nash doesnt have a reverse option the Prestige does
The Nash does have a 2 year warranty with it so thats re assuring but in summary I wouldnt compare them as like for like comparisons in my opinion

Fair enough, I've had a set of aluminium posts machined and bolted to the instead of mine. I did get a spare pair of folks so I can have the barrow powers or Manual dependant on the water I'm fishing.

Got the prestige mate has the Nash which seems more fiddly and crappy .It's not a question of what I have is best because I would simply buy the Nash one if it was better but it simply isn't

Just fitted the global anglings kit to my big boy triporter and extremely impressed. Easy to fit and very strong. No more huffing and puffing from me anymore at the bank

Yeah ordered Wednesday delivered this morning. Their customer service seems spot on. They even added extras like towels and led caps etc

Been using mine over a month now and has been faultless. The charger is a bit of fiddling about and takes some getting used to but overall the kit and service I've had from global has been fantastic.

The wheel hub can have reverse depends on the controller not are ebike controllers so have cruise control and regenerative breaking as well. Not sure about the global products mind as I went to Ali express to get mine parts.
Lots of people are using the 350w wheel hub and I've seen no complaints is it better than the prestige i just don't know. I'm doing mine cos I have the luggage for the Avid transit X.
