Anybody using Jason's own range of hooks, I'm presuming they will be spot on having used other brands sharpened by him in the past so know they will be sharp, but thought I would just try and get some feedback 👌

I use the Mugga's sharpened by him. I must say they are very good.

Yeah I've used them mate. They're every bit as good as you'd expect. The Grippa is a particularly good hook. Awesome for zigs.

I was lucky enough to win a load of these, all different sizes and types. My favourite is the Grippa.
Nice sharp strong hooks, nothing not to like about them.
Have bought them since winning them and always in my armoury.

These are the only hooks I use now. Strong and sharp. They are readily available.

I don't get those hooks from a marketing perspective though. Gardner is kind of saying that if you want sharp Mugga's, you'd better buy the expensive ones.

Nah. Gardner are saying you can go for chemically sharpened or hand sharpened. They might offer the best i.e. sharpest chemically sharpened hooks on the market but that cannot compare to hand sharpened.

JP are decent and certainly the most cost effective hand sharpened hooks on the market but they are nowhere near the quality if Jason's imho.

Sure, I get that. But then why not sell hand sharpened only? The price difference isn't that big, even more so with the number of faulty hooks I throw away unused. I love their hooks though, don't get me wrong.

Not everyone wants a super sharp, one fish or one cast hook. If you fish on gravel pits those points are going over more often than not on some spots.
I still use the JHSS hooks and just tie plenty of rigs up, but I'm happy with a handful of fish a year. If you're fishing a heavy stocked day ticket you may have different priorities.
Lots of threads on here with people asking for sharp out the pack but not hand honed hooks.

Well, that sounds logical. I never fish those (not from the UK either), so from that perspective I do get it.
@Yonny: the price difference is around 50% over here, but if I would count the chemically sharpened hooks i bin its quite a bit less - maybe I just justified buying myself the hand sharpened ones and giving them a chance then.
