Hi,
Just looking for peoples thoughts on these rods. Not been out long (new versions) and I've pulled the trigger on some on the back of a local long range water where most people are using them.
Got a good deal from local shop and will be looked after by Fox if need be.
Question is what are they like at casting and playing fish under the tip?

Just shock , awe, amazement, you've spent good money on rods used by several people on a lake you fish, and are then asking for evaluation on a public forum after the event. That horse has long left the stable. Hope they are everything you need them to be.

I never said the local water is one I am fishing.
Also this audience as you call it is much bigger than the few anglers using and loving the rods on the said water.

Yes seen one in the shop and look and feel what I'm needing. Much better to hear it from people who have used them though.

No need to use abusive language via PM, if you've no humour thats not our fault 
It is rather silly asking on a forum post-purchase. this site has been around a fair while and well known, I'd certainly be inclined to engage the grey matter pre-purchase of such expensive things, or at the very least, be prepared for toungue in cheek comments from an internet forum full of carp anglers lol

I would never buy a fox rod again,in a couple of years if you have an issue you will not be able to get spares.

Hopefully I won't have them long enough before the next model comes out.
Going to abuse them for a couple of years and get rid. Fox life span is circa 5 years before new models come out according to my favourite NW fishing centre!

Not sure it's that long to be honest,if you are only having them for that reason then you will be fine.I know some of the new range were having issues with the reel seats coming loose,water was getting underneath and causing them to move

A good mate has them. They're nothing special and i wasn'timpressed. My tired old treb lites are softer in the tip and i cast them about 30yds further when we compared.
Fox arent a rod or reel builder. There are companies that specialise in these things, buy a better product from them at a similar price

Try them out, you might love them. It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks if you like them.
If you hate them then maybe fox will ‘look after you' with a refund.
The fox guys I've seen do genuinely use fox rods and reels, and some of them can fish a long, long way. They can't be that bad.

That was the original X5 mate, and the only model I personally saw this on was the 12.6 3.5.

Im not sure which ones a lad had returned in the shop I use,all I know is it happened on two out of the three rods

I repaired a x5 spod rod for a mate last year for the water ingress issue, the arbours they use are cardboard tubes with very minimal epoxy so they weren't sealed essentially therefore the cardboard had turned to mush.
