I doubt many have come across this rule before. Saw it on FB, that well known **** tip Pavyotts Mill in Somerset, I can't think of a dafter rule.

I agree. A council owned water near me has the same rule, they claim it's because there are water voles around the lake. Quite possible but I suspect they'd be massively outnumbered by the rats. Not many seem to take much notice of the rule.

BTW...I hear of a place thats got a massive butyl liner at the dam end of a lake,your not allowed to use banksticks on there as well...only rod pods..

I seen that aswell the owners has said it so they don't have holes everywhere 🤷♂️ I use a pod but even I think it's a stupid rule, tbh though it don't bother me because I refuse to fish it anyway (not because of this rule)

So I presume there also has to be a size limit on bivvy pegs or are you supposed to use bricks to hold your bivvy down. A 12" peg must surely penetrate the same or further into the ground than a bankstick!!!

You can go on the FB page, tell everyone which swim you've booked in 6 months time and ask how many wraps to fish, what bait, what rig and what takeaway, you only need to turn up after that

It's a couple miles from my front door and the original farm pond was one of the places I grew up fishing in the 90's. Some friends think its now hell of place. Fortunately it's not one I'll ever have to visit . The stalkbook page does provide some entertainment though

Yep that's right, each fish has a chip implant and you have to scan them when caught , they all have a 14 digit number or something, cyber carping.
Personally I find the whole thing/place quite sickening and there is now a generation or more that think everything you've read in this thread is carping normality.

Just looked at the website. Oh dear. Glad I'm 66 and hopefully will continue to have access to one or two angling venues till I cock my toes. The battle is lost. I've always gone fishing to enjoy freedom in the countryside. More and more fisheries acquired by money grabbing "entrepreneurs" who have no understanding and no wish to understand the soul of angling and a growing angling culture that does not and doesn' t want to understand either.
Angling is not measured by how big and how many, catching is. I am genuinely depressed.
Fill them all in, tear down the fences and leave what's left to the anglers who get it.
I'll calm down in a day or two.

You can't lift a fish from the mat for a photo, mat shots or in the water, the reason is because the place is a noddy magnet run by people without a clue but you can have same noddy's fishing badly with plastic.
If you look at FB you'll see a good few fish were lost because they were dropped how ****ing sad is that?
**** holes like this are turning carp fishing into a stag weekend activity, I'm grateful I lived and fished in the good days
On the plus side it keeps them away from the nice places👍

I dont do day ticket's but would this be one of the country's most expensive?

A good friend of mine did use to fish in years ago but once they had a khv outbreak he didn't fish it again (that was a long time ago and is apparently sorted now) and he hasn't gone back to it.
I do have other friends who fish there still now and had a few big fish out but none of them consider them to be there PBs just because they are very well known not to be English fish, that brings me to another story when I mentioned this to a lad on the Facebook page I got banned for a month 😂 I don't even fish the lake so doesn't bother me but did make me laugh
