Hi seriously considering one of these am I right in thinking with the over wrap on it will be more sturdy in rougher conditions?

I have both tempest and fast and light with wrap both very good I prefer the fast n light.

Just sold my tempest air mk2 for one of them don't rate the tempest the to heavy

Very stable with the overwrap on.
Don't overlook the cyprinius version, great bit of kit and you'll save a fortune compared to the Aqua.

I got the Cyprinus mk3 version in the auction for £102 it is top quality for the money. The material is very thick and ideal for overnighters and tight swims.
Is a fast and light,either versions,bigger or similar sizing to a Whychwood MHr compact,the one that's sadly discontinued..

The wychwood is more compact than the fast and light,I use mine for days on my own plenty of room and it fits in the side pocket of my rod bag. If my lad come with me I take the fast and light,it gives you a bit more room for two chairs and it's a bit bulkier than the wychwood,but you get a bit more coverage at the front.

Got a cyprinus with overwrap, sturdier with the wrap on but still decent with some storm poles on the front and down low. It's the only shelter I use now

The material is a ripstop type and thick,mines been set up in all sorts of swims and nothing have ripped it.I would imagine the system with the front on would be dark enough inside

Wychwood do seem to have slipped in quality recently but Aqua are not what they were either.I bought my brolly second-hand off here and it's not had one single issue

My understanding the original was the one to have and bomb proof but the mk2 was the one with poor qc? Interested because someone near me is selling a mk2 system.

Yeah, I've heard the Wychwood are a bit hit and miss. Mate of mine had one that leaked.
I have a mk2 F&L - it has been faultless, no issues at all, zero. Used it a lot over the last 3 years... very stable, even in gales and is quick to set-up, offers really good protection. Only negative is the pack down size and weight, it ain't what I'd call light. But then if it's going on the barrow, doesn't matter I suppose. I use mine for overnighters and long day sessions when conditions dictate. The dedicated groundsheet is good, also the pouch is pretty nifty and I've also got the mozi mesh - which is excellent. Don't have the overwrap though, as if I want a bivvy, I use my Pioneer.

Quick update - had it up in the garden and let the hose have it - no leaks I'm happy - nice bit of kit 👌, probably won't use the groundsheet very often so took that out and the front will be used for overnighters if needed saved a little bit of weight.

It weighs 4.5kg and go's up in honestly 10 seconds. Must be the lightest brolly on the market? Iv had mine for 4/5 years now and love it only issue is condensation but that brollys for you
