Searching for a new bed for my Girlfriend.

Can't decide between the Avid banchmark lite with the new heated bag or the new Nash mf60 indulgence 5 season sleep system compact.
She is fishing with me the whole Winter, so it must be warm ...

Any suggestions ?

In my experience such innovations (heated bag) can be a hit and miss. New gadgets often come with flaws that take manufacturers time to fix. Over the past five years I've had that with bivvy lights, sonars, powerpacks, head lights and cookware, to name a few. Avid has had issues with the legs of the bedchair and the strength of the frame. I assume they fixed that by now, but the question is whether their bag will stand the test. If it does, it will probably be the standard by the time your girl needs a new bedchair. On the other hand I've had issues with Nash too, so there you go

Heated sleeping bags have been about for long long time,just add a hot water bottle or two ,heat on,heat off as you wish.No need to be a pioneer with your cash

Can't comment on the bedchairs but personally I'd look at getting her a down sleeping bag, I'm sure she won't want to sleep in clothes so you'll need definitely need a warmer bag, as you'll know they do tend to feel the cold more.. have a look the likes of Alpkit pipedream range or some of the Rab, TNF offerings, expensive maybe but she'll appreciate it and in turn so will you!!

Fox duralite Bedchair with the 5 season bag she won't get cold in that

if she isnt then you wont need to worry about crash zips and can save a wedge of cash buying a camping bag

Wouldn't bother with heated bag something else when it goes wrong to send back keep it simple hot water bottles

I've just bought one. Hot water bottle that is.

I've always suffered from getting cold and tried loads of bags in the past, the last one being the Gardner bag that some mention - found it really bad. I've currently got a Trakker 365 and it's the nuts.

I've not put the liner in the Trakker bag so far, it's been lovely and warm at 5 degrees. Without using the liner, and this being a pure guess on my part, having the liner in the bag when I first got it, I'd say that would go down to -10 or -15 no problem and still be warm.

I've just got the Avid heated bag and only used it for the one night. First impressions I'm quite impressed, a subtle heat but soon had to be switched off getting to warm. Used with a Anker 20.000 powerbank.
Found for the first time in a while I didn't have tight hamstrings after a fishing session, cause low bed etc. similar effect as a heated car seat. At 13 stone 5.10 i would advise anyone bigger go for the xl. Quite looking forward too cooler nights.

A heated sleeping bag would be the last thing you would want to fail when fishing during the winter.

I've got the Trakker oval v1 and it doesn't feel particularly small to me, I'm only 5'9" but do weigh in at 16stone
It's been plenty warm enough to date with the 3 season bag and thermal cover. Temps will have to drop a bit more before I'm tempted to fit the 5 season bag
