C'mon guys give him a chance. As much as I dislike his heavy advertising stance, he's surely one of the few that's in a position to chuck some good new products our way.
I'm gonna reserve my opinion until I see what he's peddling

I was having this discussion with a friend the other day. The only company I can really think of who have managed to take a decent market share in recent years is Ridgemonkey.

Their angle was a clever one - small, natty products (sandwich toaster, light, boilie chopper) to affirm quality and innovation before branching out. A blanket release of products clearly carries far more risk - the company that comes to mind is Taska but there's certainly loads of others. From what I gather OMC will be a clothing brand first and foremost, but I'm intrigued to see if there's any real innovation. I think clever marketing will always make it a success, unsure whether it will take the market by storm. Time will tell.

It's a really pants name and I think all this TV has gone to his head going off the way he did the big reveal. It's all a bit cringe for me.

He's a well known name and even if a bit marmite, knows his stuff and is a good brand leader.

Yes a very good example - one I'd forgotten. A clothing start-up would be quite a clever marketing move as Ali would be able to create a strong team of “consultants”. Ultimately he could recruit a load of his mates without treading on their bait/tackle sponsors toes and then, when they do branch out (which they will) he's already got his foot in the door.

I'm interested to see what he's bringing out.

You say that braders but if you look at the last 10 years or so, there's been a few game changers. The Spomb is the most obvious one. No-Trace beads. Linkteq and the Freefall Tubing. The Ridgemonkey toaster jobby.

All genuine improvements. I'd not be without most of them.

It only takes one brilliant idea (easier said than done) to get the ball rolling.

Ah yeah cheers that's what I was thinking of.

I'm guessing it's a brand that's gonna be aimed at a wide range of angling styles, not just mainly carp angling. Otherwise the name doesn't really make a lot of sense. The only time I'd think of one more cast would be either predator fishing or maybe floater fishing/stalking and at a push zig fishing.

Agreed, one last cast is always a float fishinv thing for me.

Maybe im wrong, but i cant imagine most of his following have ever float fished.

float fishing and feeder fishing is when ive ever thought "one more cast". I have never used the phrase for carp fishing ... Which may suggest its not a brand aimed solely for carp anglers
