The usual problem with the T4s is after lots of use the flame no longer comes out of one part/side of the burner, or worse, I see this mentioned often so thought I would take a few pics while fixing mine.
1. First undo the nut on the bottom
2. You then have to carefully slide the white part of the igniter and igniter plate out slightly, this allows you to get the burner off and the middle section out of the frame. There is a tiny grub screw (other side from pic view) holding this in place, it will make it much easier if you can loosen this but you'll need either a small watchmakers type screwdriver or on some models an Allen key. You can use a pair of pliers carefully if you can't loosen that screw, I have managed it without before but you may have trouble getting it back in.
3. Unscrew the burner
4. Pushing on the bolt underneath remove the jet/pipe system from the frame then with a screwdriver through the holes undo the jet pillar.
5. Now the main event! This is the jet, unscrew this....
and you will find it looking all sooted up like this
6. With a fine file clean it up all the way round till it looks like a new penny, also see notes at the bottom on this.
6. Reassemble being careful at getting the igniter/plate height correct to get it to fire, takes a bit of trial and error. I usually find once they get to a certain age it's easier to use a lighter anyway. Get the kettle on, if it hasn't worked (some attempts are more successful than others) bin it and buy a new one, they are only £25 after all.
NOTES:
1) There may be a better way to clean the jet using some kind of soak rather than filing it, but I have used the above method on the bank before to get out of trouble and it's worked. The whole job can be done with a pair of pliers and a hook file in an emergency, using the latter side-on to unscrew the jet.
2) Also if you look at the top pic there is the big screw where the gas pipe comes in. If you undo that there is the end of a wire sticking out, this is to help keep the preheater pipe clear. This can be pulled out and cleaned and also 'rogered'
in and out to help clean out the pipe, similar to the one in a Coleman that twists when you switch it on and off. Putting the stove on low and tapping the pipe with a screwdriver, spoon or similar will also help clear it, that trick works well on Colemans as well.

Thanks for this, I'll give it a go, mine has started only coming out one side. I tried taking it apart before but past unscrewing the nut underneath I was stumped!
I did soak it in coke overnight after reading it elsewhere on here, this seemed to improve it slightly but not like new.

I helped a mate take his bulin apart and the jet didnt have the screw head cut into it so it isnt possible to unscrew.
It looks like a nut but it's fully recessed into the outer part so we cant get pliers or any tool onto it and we cant see a way to get it out.
Might have to spray with carb cleaner???

I had the same with mine, stumped me?.
I'm pretty handy with repairing things, but ended up binning it and buying a new one.

A squirt of brake cleaner cleans it pretty quick, coke doesn't sound a good idea to me, if it gets trapped within the jet/filter the sugar will block that in no time

Hmm, that's interesting, is it a recent one you tried fixing as I have had two over the years that have been like the one in my pics.
Maybe they have cottoned on and have made the newer ones unserviceable so you have to buy a new one
Would like to see a pic of it to see how different it is.

Yes I know what you mean, annoying isn't it. I think the spark gets weaker with time.
Maybe cleaning the 'plate' the spark hits might give a stronger spark or try moving its position to find a sweet spot, apart from that I tend to just get the lighter out.

My T4 recently started doing this. Flame only coming out of three quarters of the jets. I treated myself to a new one which is being delivered from Amazon today. The only thing that's wrong with the one I have currently is what's mentioned in this thread. If anyone wants it to fix for themselves I'll send it to them. Ignition etc works perfectly. The stove still works well currently, it's only a small gap in flame that's just started, I was just worried it would pack up on me mid trip. Reading this thread it's a very easy fix if someone wants it.

No there should be a bit of a gap there, 5 mins of trial and error should sort it
It's common with gas bbqs too, people can't be arsed to spend 5 mins tweaking the electrodes

They might have redesigned it to make it unserviceable, good way to get you to buy a new one. If the part is still protruding but just does not have the slot, see if you can get some grips/pliers on it and unscrew it that way.
