Hi all. Just wandered what people think of vloging on your lake syndicate. I'm on 2 syndicates, the first - in my opinion is getting ridiculous with numerous 'celebrity anglers' shooting vids on the bank, more often than not with a crew (who aren't members), plus drones scooting about everywhere. I think it does create a bit of a circus atmosphere. The second is a newer lake, on the up and with a great membership, presently... A well known angler has started vloging from there and I just get the feeling, that putting the lake 'out there' will attract the wrong kind of angler. Not much I can do I guess or maybe I'm being paranoid. What do you think gents?

I can only assume that the owners must be giving their permission for non members, drones etc. and like the exposure their waters are getting?
As always, if you don't like it don't rejoin, or at least have a chat with the owners.

I think the answer to your question is simple. As soon as somebody publishes something with a bit of a wow factor it will be stuffed full of sheep, chasers who can't think for themselves and then your fishing fishing will be ****ed and so will others
Th good news in your scenario is that they are syndicates with limited numbers I guess?
Myself, as long as I'm left to get on with my fishing I couldn't care what others are doing unless it effects what I'm doing or where I'm fishing. Noise is another issue altogether though!

Gotta love a drone, difficult targets with the air rifle but if the hover in range can get three shots into them before they fall out the sky.

Sounds like a limited ticket commercial water too me and not a syndicate if you've had no say in granting permission. That's what you get, pay your money someone else makes the choices.

On one of the lakes on my syndi we currently have Peck, Stokes and Holness plus film crews etc. To be fair they are all really nice chaps and the only downside appears to be they are catching all the bigguns that have been eluding everyone for months
I think they are introducing a 48hr rule soon though as they are there a lot as are some of the members. I'm sure as soon as they have caught what they are after they will move on somewhere else

I'm sure you know what I mean Ken. The glory boys, only interested in catching, so they can give it the biggun on social media etc etc. Membership is so key to enjoyable fishing these days and it only takes one or two inconsiderate nobs to change the atmosphere on a lake.

Carpfishing was and always will be about the fish for me, nothing else
In these situations, and I feel how the modern carpfishing scene has gone, the fish is just a by product to the self promotion and advertising hype
I've watched a few, week long sessions!!, some two weeks!!! Sorry but there is not much skill in that other than punishing them out for cameras

I think there is a time and a place for it. We had d a film crew turn up on a lake I fish last year. The landowner agreed but clearly didn't realise what he was agreeing too. They outed the lake big time with drone shots and details of the stock etc. Luckily in today's modern scene the fish aren't really off interest to most. A total lack of respect was shown to the anglers on the lake by the “celebrity Angler” involved and the film crew speeding through the gate several times a day and rutting up the soft ground.
Plenty of lakes would welcome the exposure but leave the quiet peaceful lakes alone.
The “Celebrity angler” won't be getting a ticket again that is for sure.

It's where “it's at” now init. It's killed the mags, social media is a riot and they will not like the feedback so vlogs and vids are the way forward for all the company and self the promotions until everybody gets sick of that

It used to be all about the capture, now sadly, it's all about the captor. 
Most of the latest have a go morons come across so desperate and lame they actually make me cringe with embarrassment for them so turn off after the second or third word.
It's a syndicate so surely the owner will control membership numbers. If your syndicate has a few names on you must be in the right place.

True. Currently the lake has an impressive stock of 30s, the lake isn't too busy and the membership are sound. Praying that will remain the case, when many of the fish will hit the 40 mark...

It's a complete joke....drones flying around e.t.c. what a piss take.
Should all be non publicity waters - i reckon you would see 50% of so called carp anglers sell their kit within 2 weeks.
