In relation to my last post regarding new buzz bars, I went and brought the cygnet ones and love them.
The only problem I have found, weirdly, is that my esp mini butt grips wonts screw in... the thread/ screw seems to be just a bit to big which is weird as I have never had this problem before?!....
Does anyone have any suggestions for similar butt grips for abriviated rods?

Find a local engineers shop to get them to re tap them or take them back
You might have the same problem with any other brand as they are all the same size

Not totally thread related but Scozza sent me a PM out of the Blue back along telling me he had a tight butt, probably not the answer you wanted and I'm a family man so I deleted the message.
Anyway a number of years back I used those rubber ball grips on my stainless set up, adjustable to all types of rods and rock solid. £15 for 3 off the Bay.

Have you tried a lubricant to insert the butt grip or did you go in dry?

The Fox rubber Butt Grips are brilliant, I use them in small for abbreviated handles and medium for my rods with full duplon or cork. They really grip the rod well and don't mark handles, plus they're very compact. No need for any extras to enure they align on bars either, they screw in flush to the bar or bank stick and have a relatively shallow thread. Just excellent IMO and just £4 each from J/Ross

On a more serious note, I have the Cygnet 20/20s (not sure what this means) on a two rod set up with ESP mini grips, fit fine, no problem for me
Back to butts, Sir mix a lot for me

Been thinking about trading the ESP ones in for 3 of these, something I would like to rest my rod on and far better on the eye

If you have any issues with threads etc, just buy a 3/8 BSF tap and die nut and give the male and female threads a quick once over and they will screw in nicely....ive only had to use the tap on the odd storm pole..
