As per thread title

What's the best way of imitating Solars up and down mix as I can't seem to get hold of any. This isn't for any commercial use, just my own personal use. I want to use it for zig fishing. I'd like to get everything off of the bottom and have it all suspended in the water column.

Breadcrumbs, dried shrimp, mealworms, decicated coconut, various small pellets?

Ccmoore do a few different mixes that have various different items in that would be good for use with zig, stick or solid bag fishing. I'd then just add a few bits to one of them (crushed hemp seed, flaked maize etc). I'd also be looking at using something like CSL,hydro wheat or hydro fish (shrimp, salmon, tuna from bacarel) if your going down the fishmeal route then some oils (salmon, hemp) to create a nice slick

Keep um coming guys 👍

Like the pop up idea, though that's well expensive. Rice cripies in varying different sizes looks good, as with really small floating pellet.

A few old pop ups isn't going to hurt in a mix blend them up and glug the mix also try some of that dynamite oil as well as that's reall my hood the nozzle jabs into the pva bag and let's out plumes of oil to surface to pull fish down

Pallatrax do a groundbait mix with dried daphnia and maggot. If you don't wet it down too much I would imagine they would float

Thanks for that tip 👍

What I want to do is get everything going from top to bottom with it slowly releasing. The Solar mix is very good in that respect. I have sourced a load of it now, thing is, I'd very much like to be able to knock something up myself and the other thing, hope that this could be some kind of a resource for others thinking the same way 😉

Bi carbonate, wheatg germ, hemp meal, grounded seeds, shrimp hull, but not too much bi carb or your balls float up, up and away. Or spod it sloppy.

Just thought the local Chinese supermarkets have bags of small shrimp I'd soak them or grind them up as they float straight of the bag but good if you're fishing in or around weed

Pretty much most commercially available pop ups and pop up mixes contain microscopic glass spheres in the mix

Blitzing a few popups and adding them to a stick mix wont do any harm whatsoever. The tiny particles emitted by the active mix will unlikely even be ingested by a fish as they float up to the surface. They may attract them in but I'd imagine they would be more interested in the real food sitting below on the deck. Even if they did ingest a few crumbs then I'm sure they'll be just fine
