Anyone know of a decent windshield? I have a normal cheap metal one that fall over in the slightest bit of wind, seen recently in a Korda video (Danny had one) and in the new dna video they have a solid looking metal one.

Any of you know where I can get one like that? Thanks

I built one years ago out of an old road sign that I found. Cut 3 equal pieces that fit the width of my pan and then pop riveted 2 hinges to each join. It weighs a ton so I stopped using it and went back to my old flimsy one. Don't know what road signs are made from but it's tough stuff to cut but you could use sheet aluminium or steel from the likes of Wickes.

Small tarp, some ingenuity, bit of cord and a couple of sticks/poles?
Taller than a metal guard and set further back obviously

Windshield shield - the one that comes with my trangia.

Thanks for all the ideas lads just wanted one that would go in my back and not have to move my swim round to just warm the kettle up 😂 I might make one myself like mentioned

Thinking about it, the ideal material to make one from would be the side of a domestic appliance, it's usually steel, thin, lightish, cuts easily and is wipe clean. But on the other hand, if you "hug" your pan when cooking like I do, the coating could burn.

I always cut the sides from old knackered appliances to use to make things and usually when out and about pass one dumped somewhere.

That sounds like a good idea I work for the council so have to clear items like that all the time so could find stuff very easily or could just use the ones in my kitchen and hope the mrs don't realise lol

Cotswold Aquarius do one. Basically a fabric/canvas one that will fit onto a couple of short banksticks.

Hi, use this with a Bulin T4 & it works very well.
Had other with less sides but this completely surrounds stove.
Packs down well, flat, not heavy, lite & comes with a bag to put it in.

That's the one I use already always seems to just fall over in the slightest little breeze, think I'll have to just make one by the looks of it

In the picture it shows it upside down

On each end are rods that push into the ground 👍

They can't fall over, push the rods on the end in to the ground.

I've had one of these for donkies - stows on the canister in reverse (like a shroud) when not in use so takes up zero space . . just check that your stove 'arms' sit above / don't foul the shield . . .

Also use a can stabiliser underneath . . .these only work with compact / direct to can stoves

OR if your talking about a beach style windbreak then any army surplus should have the kit you need . . .personally I'd just take a cheap 45" brolly . . .

. . .only prob with them Gerry (although they are cheap) is they can corrode over time . . .whilst flat they are also not particularly packable - I had one that ripped a carryall as the pins that secure it in the dirt poked out of one end!
