I've been looking at zippo hand warmers. In the past I've tried the charcoal hand warmers and found them to be not very good for what I won't. So thinking of the zippo one to try. As I suffer with cold hads . I don't no why but ever since I've stopped riding a motorbike I've suffed with the cold on my hands. I'm not keen on using gloves. So I was wondering what the zippo hand warmers are any good.

They are great, highly recommend them. Actually lighting them takes a little while to get the hang of but on a full tank (so to speak) you'll get a good 12 hours of heat. I got one as a gift, not sure why the one as I definitely have two hands
, and after using it I immediately got another one and also a couple for the family.
You won't be disappointed

A pain in the 'arris to get going,but once lit are very good.I've had one for a few years now,however for next winter I'll be looking into the rechargeable version.

I suffer also and when long trotting with a centrepin reel in the depths of winter they are a godsend as gloves get in the way. Very simple to refuel and get going. IfI'm only going for a few hours once finished I'll pop them in a plastic bag to cut off the air supply as they have no way of turning off.

I have a couple of the charcoal ones one for each pocket lol
My daughter bought me a few of the gel type ones for Xmas a few years ago but I haven't used them as I can find them.
She's probably nicked them back lol

might be worth looking into the USB handwarmers too? no fuel to mess around with and there are plenty to choose from ,some I believe have variable output.

They are brilliant, I've got 2, one for each jacket pocket. Light it like this and you won't go far wrong, I usually use my stove at step 4.

So much easier to light with the blowtorch lighters you buy on eBay.
I bought a couple of imitation peacock handwarmers about 10 years ago and have been absolutely brilliant.essential for cold nights one in each pocket and as they last so long I leave my coat on top of my sleeping bag creating a bit of central heating

Thank you you have to use the supplied case as they get so hot around 14 hours on a fill the rolls Royce if hand warmers

Had two s-Boston ones for years now they are spot on
I've had one for several years and use a zippo lighter to light it. They are good and I've had mine in the sleep bag etc last around 16 hours when filled using the measuring pourer they come with. I purchased a spare wick and haven't needed it as yet use it about 5-10'times a year.

I have the zippo and the boston and the rechargeable.
the zippo's a pain to get going and you need to carry fuel, fill etc.
the boston beats the zippo hands down but still needs fuel.
IMHO the rechargeable scores highest. Charge and leave in rucksack, use when needed by simply pushing a button. For a 10er, can't be beaten. Great for flinging in the bag on a cold night to heat up yer feet. It also charges my phone if required.

Battery cover will break, so have to use say Duck tape to hold them on.
But rechargeable with Li ion Batteries, i think are even better, they have moved on alot.
Get Hot !!!(try holding one on full power) & now last Hours.
Both below 10,000 mAh.
Cheapish one i bought, comes in generic packaging.

I've been fishing several days this week and needed the Zippos with the icey nights and cold evenings. They are perfect, cheap to use, last hours and are easy to light if you know what to do ie use the lighters with the blue flame and not a bog std cig lighter.

Can turn S-Boston on & off (turn cover around), easy lit with battery ignition.
Revelation compared to Zippo's.
S-Boston even harder to get now & very expensive.
Got Zippos (had em years) light with a Turbo lighter.
There OK when there working good, but heads can be/ can get temperamental. Bought a few more heads for them,
case of luck, if you get a good head (especially with later design).
Makes me wonder if they decreased amount of Platinum in them.

This stops it getting burnt/ singed & getting hard on the top, causing it not to work as good.
