I have currently got 10ft rods with baitrunners but want something different, what would you guys recommend for buying 2nd hand reels for 10ft rods

Have a look at okuma inception inc 6000 just bought 3 myself and must say for £50 each quality reels for the money match up perfectly with 10ft rods heard nothing but great reviews about them on here so decided to buy 3 myself and on first impression very happy with them

Yeah, get them mate, I got 3 of them to pair with 10ft rods around about Christmas time, they're a really good balance.

The Okuma baitrunner inc6000 is also a great reel for the money. Long term who knows but short term as nice a reel as I've used

I've recently bought the Okuma inc 6000, it's a brilliant little reel! Goes perfectly on my explorers, they cast well, they wind in the fish well and the clutch is remarkably good considering I paid just £90 for two of them! I massive thumbs up from me, there is nothing close to it in that price bracket, or even the bracket above id be bold enough to assume.

Agreed...Yesterday I had hold of the smaller match fishing reels Okuma produce side by side with the Daiwa equivalent
I'd say on feel the Daiwa was possibly just a touch better...but only by a whisker.

I looked at the inc6000 in shop, loosened the spool and it all felt cheap, don't think Shimano / Daiwa should fear.

I got four for £170 before the shortage of tackle in the shops.
Post 19 okuma have been here for years, i still have 2 sets of interceptors that are well over 25 years old and never missed a beat.
Post 20 shimano and daiwa should worry with the parts they are using in there reels these days !

About 6 months ago, you could pick them up for about £40 each, but when they started selling out, the price went up to £50, then when hardly anyone had any stock, the shops that had them were selling at £60. At Parkfield, think you can get 3 for £150. I ordered 3 of these in December, but then they rang me up and said they only had 2 in stock. And then the fun began to get a third!! But even at £60, they are a bargain imho.

They did have stock but no longer have any, can the washers be changed like on a Shimano etc does anybody know?
Went for a pair of wychwood riots 45s, on the slightly shorter 9fts I have and now I have the conundrum of what mainline to go with. Small spools and small rings so thinking something thin, potentially daiwa hyper sensor in 12lb 0.28mm. Anyone have any experience or recommendations?

I didn't rate Hyper Sensor line, not very good for knotting. Could have been a duff spool I suppose.

Not the best mate , but you might be lucky , nephews mate got about 6 months out of 2 of his before they fell to bits , used to do a bit of testing for wychwood way back when they used great blanks for there rods and decent luggage but for some reason reels have always been sub standard.

I have a set of Okuma CB 60 on my 10ft scopes. really good quality build on these.

I was looking at the CB60's for my standard rods, Greys Prodigy 3lb t/c. Whats the drag like on them?
Currently using crosscast x but want black reels for minimal outlay, also more than likely going 10ft rods route aswell with change of car imminent.

I would quite happily use them on 12fters, similar in size to fx9s i would say, ideal if you dont need to cast to the horizon. i have the Okuma 8ks on my 12ft rods, cannot argue with Okumas for the quality and price.
Clutch is nice and smooth and probably about 1/2 a turn or so from tight to loose

Have a look at the NGT profiler 60 cracking little reel for £30 I have one on my Sonik xtractor recon 8ft 2.5lb balance up nice has quick drag as standard

I regularly use 10ft Free Spirit 2 3/4 test Hi S rods - I pair them with Shimano 5000RE baitrunners, which balance them perfectly. Just a shame that Shimano dropped the 5000 size from their range, as the 4000 are just a bit too small IMO. Else, if I think I might be fishing a bit further out, the Castizm QD is what goes on my 10ft rods - the Daiwa is quite compact and very light, so sits well on a 10ft rod.
