Other than Jag is anyone else doing these??
My old Fox Black Label ones don't seem to come with an auger point anymore and Cygnet seemed to have stopped doing them too.
I've noticed Cygnet do auger points though. Is this just a bank stick with a screw point and once secured in the ground you just put the inner section of your normal bank stick in?
Hope someone can help?

how about a digging stick,not what you asked but an option?? keith at defiant does a decent one not sure on price,jag do a decent one for about £18

Not keen on the quick release mechanism
Although my old Fox sticks have taken years of abuse the one weak point is the bracket that adjusts the height. I have a feeling the qr mechanism won't be the most reliable.

On hard ground I use a long screw point bivvy peg to make the hole, then a little wiggle will then open it enough to allow a bankstick to go in.

Been using 2 sets of the bank sticks for the last year on the river. Superb quality and great no twist design.
Would happily buy again, but will probably outlast me

Used their sticks and bars for about ten or so years now. Bulletproof kit with real good aftersales. My only criticism is that they need to improve the thumbscrews with an internal rubber grommet, a machined internal flange, or suchlike, so that they can't fall out. I did have one of the auger points fail many years ago, after screwing it into a rock hard canal bank, it was replaced with no quibble or charge, not even postage, and that's the only fault in many hundreds of nights use... It's solid kit, a nice half-way weight wise between stainless and carbon. They are a precision engineering firm (Kalstan) and one of their guys is a carper, so it's just a sideline. Give them a bell and have a natter - I visited their premises for a gander before buying - decent firm and U.K. manufactured. I like it anyhow... 👍

I remember seeing their ads in BC (I think) many years ago bit didn't know they were still going until you mentioned them

Worth trying them to see how you fare... From memory I think they use aviation glue for the auger points, they're strong! I never worry about bending or busting the sticks, just ram ‘em in, or if the ground is really fierce then screw ‘em in. I'd go for these or Defiant but can't comment on sticks from the latter, although his indicators are top notch and again, good after sales. 👍
