Wondering if anyone has feedback on either of these?
Just joined a new syndicate and from my walk around it's shaggy so assume I'll be fishing locked up depending on swim.
Never used a bungee before, never had the need so have no idea what's decent. I use Jag lockdowns so I fancy the matching Jag but ultimately function is the most important for me.

The Jags are brilliant, I have mine set up facing the other way, (towards the back of the reel) for 2 reasons, 1, I have duplon handles so the bungee goes around the base of the reel seat and 2, you can just flick the release button with your finger as you pick up the rod, all in one action...

The JAG ones are the bollox, not used PB's version. The JAG's are the nuts for fishing super locked up. One of the very best bits of kit I've bought in a very long time.

Jag fine tuned the concept to an excellent design. This comes with a price tag.
Pb bungee cords are doing their job. It's more bulky and rather cheap.

I had those on a set of Century NG's I owned many moons ago, they did the job, well I never lost a Rod to a hard take that's for sure.
That said the PB ones now do the job for me on a set of rods without the Nev ball clip.

Using John Roberts grips and putting ones butt eye 'behind' your alarms (and possibly adding a bankstick to either side to stop kiting) is usually more than enough for snag fishing . . .just means you can't use a ridiculously short pod / bankstick set up . . .the alternative is an SN Ball peg which I think looks retro cool anyway (Century NGs used to have them as standard)
Mind you, with the distance people have their reels from the alarm head these days (sounding like an old fart now) the reel itself should stop rods being dragged in . . .albeit possibly smashing those cheap chinese made alarms . . .lol

Its just carp jewellery, the jag stuff looks great, but you couldn't convince me to buy a £60 set of bungee straps to stop my rods getting dragged out of a £60 set of butt rests.
How many isotope slots do they have?

Actually think the jag product is a good solution - can see it being useful for Barbel / Catfish anglers / France etc but its still a little OTT for most UK waters IMHO . . .

your probably right, and possibly is overkill. but for the sake of £20

Quite impressed with mine, I've always fished a pretty tight clutch, why let them build up a head of steam.

I'm not judging
I don't have a need for them, as you said, snag fishing with the butt eye in front of the alarm, snag ears, using the cup type butt rests when fishing tips high...
But they look good and would help when you want a tidy three rod setup in a tricky situation, whereas I'm happy to have three rods at different heights pointed in different directions

and that's what makes me laff . . .guys using super lightweight NBrice pods (set at shortest length) looking beautiful but not daring to scratch the spindly legs by actually pushing them into the dirt together with jag bungees . . .good luck with that - now not only one rod is going in the drink but all 3x and your sexy pod . . .!

I'm using these rod locks because wildlife uses my rods as branches to sit on, so, my rods can flip over due to their weight.
This is a real pain in the ass when your rods are placed in the water 10 to 30m away from your holding area

I just use jag lockdowns in black I won't bother with these new ones, but over kill if you ask me
Better safe than sorry,for what they cost is it worth losing a rod and reel that would cost a hell of alot more money to replace.

I'm using them so I can be 3 swims down with my mate enjoying a crate of stella, safe in the knowledge that fishing locked up with these bad boys on the fish will nail itself, swim around for a bit until it's knackered and be ready to scoop up when I eventually wander back down....saves me taking my receiver as well and leaving it in my mates swim....win, win

is right there is a swim on my syndicate were a couple of blokes have had there rods dragged in.
you have to fish semi locked up /locked up and always stay on your rods,i only put one rod in there anyway ,but my point being the jag rod lockers a perfect for me anyway.

I bought the Lockers after a rod going in, luckily I always take a diver with me just in case
after that experience I use them all the time not just for snag fishing

Could you not have found a diver who's wetsuit matches your lockdown/rod locker inserts?

I've got green inserts. I've even got a green coffee cup. You can't be too careful.

I've fished locked up to snags before with my normal lockdowns and they did the job they didn't let the rod slip, good idea for some just not for me

Had the jag lockdowns and bungees since they first came out, best set up I've ever had

The Solar back rests have been fine for me. I hope I didn't jinx a mate third fish in savage bite rod slipped forward hit the front buzz bar stage stand that then collapsed all rods in the water he followed a bit of a disaster. I don't even think he was locked up

Arrived, can't see instructions anywhere on how to setup.
For the guys that have these, do I trim the elastic to fit rods and use the zip tie to hold ends together?
Seems the logical way but want to check before I start cutting
