I'm currently looking for a pod, I would like something small, easy, light and not to expensive( prob spent £3000 over the last 12 months !)😂 the wife don't know !!😂 I had the Korda singlez but I've sold them as I want something more versatile to my fishing. Looked at solar ground pod , saber terrain pod, nash, ? Any recommendations and thoughts would be appreciated . Cheers

Like always it's dependant on your budget? Black, carbon or stainless?
I've got the worldwide and can't fault it it's expensive though. I like the look of century stealth and jag super lite compact black too but all expensive.
If I was to get a pod that wasn't one of those I'd go with the solar a1 ground pod

I know what you mean. I'm trying to make things a little lighter and more quick to set up as well really , saber terrain , looks like it would be very versatile, similar to the singlez and can be a like. Pod also. I am easing towards to the solar ground pod thou. Looks good and will be quality made

Contact Keith at defiant mps,hand built,very well made and not crazy prices.I have a two rod version of the titanium panther,it's very light and I like how I can adjust the height of my rods individually like the singlez.He now does a titanium/carbon version that looks awesome

Have you had a look at the Prologic K1 Low profile rod pod?
Seems to be very versatile. Not sure on the quality but for less than £100.00, it might be worth a punt?

I would look no further than Keith at Defiant MPS and discuss your needs. You will never need to buy another pod unless you lose it.
I was looking at the defiant, the century stealth and the jag black super compact mk2 pod
I went went for the jag in the end was so impressed with it compared to the others, not slating the others just for me they wasn't on the same level, the quality is great and wouldnt swap it for anything else

Strange as I have had a couple of the jag pods,stainless and black now have the defiant and its the best out of the lot.Its as strong as the jag stainless and just as light as the black,its less faffing to set up and is solid once on the ground.I keep my sticks set up in the buzzbars,pop my alarms on/off with the quick connectors and attach central bar.It takes me seconds to set it all up

Matrix Patriot Pod - just the best IMO. I recently sold mine, which served me well for many years - I now have the compact version, which is just brilliant. Very well made and nothing fancy, just functional and very sturdy/quick to set-up. Can be used with 2 or 3 rods Matrix adjustable snag bars, so very versatile. Personally, I hate using rod pods, but when you are faced with concrete, platforms or rock hard ground... I can't recommend the Matrix highly enough.

Just something a bit different. A compact Patriot/Singlez hybrid.
It has the Jag rod lockers and Singlez spike on the rear base centre upright to lock it to the ground.
I use this in both two rod and three rod configurations with separate 2 and 3 rod buzz bars.
I do love it and it's a bit different to what you tend to see.

You're right about big dicks but not in the sense you were thinking .I love watching people trying to get them in the ground and level takes some of them ages.I throw my pod together in seconds put it on the ground,job done

Sod trying to get banksticks into the ground, pissed me off for years. Changed to a pod and it's the best move I made. No more wonky setups or struggling for ages trying to force sticks into rock hard ground, but you fill your boots with your Uber kool shticks...enjoy 👌

Shudder to think the amount of money that it cost, but to be fair, I did sell a lot of gear last year so it didn't really have much impact. That said if I was presented with the bill again now I'd probably give it a miss.

To be honest, I can see the attraction of just unpacking a pod and you're done, but I never fish with all three rods together in the swim. If it's a two rod water I have one each side, if it's three I have 2 one side and a single the other to give me space to land the fish in the middle. I use Keith's titanium dreadnaughts with the screw tips, they go into anything like butter.
My current water needs rods in the water in most swims, but if I ever fish anywhere where a pod is the only option the only one I would consider is the MPS fantail.

I had a Trident made by Keith for easily 10 years and I have to say he makes some incredible gear. I tend to use a pod and not sticks since the waters I fish, when I eventually do get the opportunity, lend themselves to pods as the banks are solid.
