Can someone recommend a decent bivvy light from experience, ive always just used a head torch previously. Heard ridgemonkey are good but are pretty expensive, are they worth it? My bivvy has a clip for hanging in the middle if it's not magnetic.

I've got 2 of the original RM with red and white light, no remote. They come with a magnetic strip so attach almost anywhere. Cant fault them, last ages on a charge and both colours have 2 brightness settings.

They come with a wrist strap which you could hang it from , but the spinning would do you're sweed in 🤣

Rather than pay all that money for what is essentially just a light source, check out Decathlon for the QUECHUA CAMPING LAMP / BL200 LUMENS RECHARGEABLE LANTERN - RED. At £20 you cant go wrong.
I used it last summer in our 6 man coleman tent, it does its job perfectly. It has a hook for hanging, recharges via micro USB to normal USB, so perfect for charging in your car. It has three light settings, Red, White 100 lumens and White 200 lumens. Once charged it lasts for ages. We camped 3 nights and it did us all three easily without a recharge. It has a handy battery level indicator too so you know when to charge it before it dies on you. Its lightweight, and yes, it lights up the tent perfectly. I recomend it.

I dont have one I have the ridgemonkey version ( birthday present)
but one of the guys I fish with occasionally saw mine and looked on Ebay thought it was the New generation tackle one and bought he is very happy with it
In not sure but I dont think his one does not have a red light function ???
my advice shop around for bivvy lights on ebay lots of different prices and specs

Like others on here I already have the ridge monkey one and will stick with it as used to it now BUT being honest would not recommend it as finding the miniscule button to turn it on in the middle of the night does my nut in!

To me one of the best things about RM and my pals NGT is they both have a remote to turn the light on or off from laying in bed lol
I would never consider buying a lamp now without one

I have a magnetic,rechargeable light from eBay with a pir built in. I use it as a normal light then switch ti pir when asleep. They were about £6 and perfect for what I want.

I have one of these and it's been excellent. Had it about 4 years, used on average 1 night a week. It's waterproof, rechargeable, has remote control, brightness setting, white and red light (among other less useful colours). Battery lasts forever. Great bit of kit for £ 20

I have the NGT and it's pretty good tbh, but I find scrolling through the settings to turn it off a pain.

I also have ngt bivvi light, with remote, it has 3 settings bright light, medium light, and red light. I've even used it recharge my phone in an emergency.

Another one for the ridgemonkey one (white, red and green) version with the remote, very good had mine for about 18 months still like new
I got the prestige carp porter/bivvy light for 25 quid plus fiver delivery from ebay for Christmas and first impressions are good, comes with magnetic clips and metal bit fro attaching to bivvy aswell as a clamp for attaching to your barrow or bankstick, can be used as a power bank, has a remote, has white or green light that can be used on 3 power settings, plus it can be used as a torch as has some leds in one end, remains to be seen as to longevity but so far so good, oh and battery last for ages.

Had the ND tackle one and it's been brilliant. Connects to your phone via there app and has more settings than you can shake a stick at

Ive got the Ridgemonkey one cant fault it except in the very cold it seems to struggle as does every other battery operated device tho

Agree that the ND one is great. I like the way it links to the bite indicators and head torch too.

Dont understand the need for a Green light , when you have the White and Red , the Green is a strange colour , well to me it is.

I built my own remote control light from parts I got from China which I used for years. Probably cost less than a "Fiver" to make. Dearest part was the remote control and sensor about £3.50. LED SMD bulb about 80p and a bulb holder and a bit of spare wire and a baitboat battery I had laying about the house. It was just a simple job of connect the wires up and install them into a clear perspex tooth brush holder with a bit of velcro on the back and a bit of speaker wire to the battery down the side of the bivvy.
But, eventually I thought, what is the point of a remote control, the distance I reach to pick the remote up is no different to the distance I reach to turn a light on physically and I always know the light is there and not like the remote which I might have lost in my sleeping bag or misplaced it.
These days I am using lights with a dimmer switch from Aldi's that take 3 AAA batteries that cost about £4.50 back end of last year, one velcroed to roof of my bivvy and one on the side of the bivvy above my tacklebags. They did have some with a movement sensor but last thing I want is a light that turns itself on and off on its own.
Before that, it was similar lights without the dimmer from Boyes about £3 each.
And when I get home, another job less to do, recharge batteries.

Like others I am happy using the on/off switch on the lamp. A simple Rolson Led Magnetic light works for me.

The Ridgemonkey one has a better battery, but other than that the NGT one is identical. It comes straight from Aliexpress though (likemost of their stuff). Theirs cost around £13 in China. The Ridgemonkey remote works on it. So let's say you have the Chinese one and the RM one, you press the remote and both will switch on.
