I currently use a fox easy mat, im looking for something a bit more compact for travelling light. I want something I can strap to my ruck sack but I want maximum protection for the fish. I don't want a fiddly small mat thats lightweight for the sake of it.
one I have looked at one is the aqua atom inflatable,but I have only seen it onlne for now.

What size fish
I have the korum version of the easy mat
I hook it via carabiners on the handles of my TA rucksack and it's about the same size folded as the rucksack

I use a Aqua Combi Mat - excellent bit of kit, but... some waters I fish insist on cradles or cradle mats, which I fecking hate. So I bit the bullet and got a Trakker Sanctuary Oval - which is great, but being so bulky, it is barrow only and did I say it was bulky? Feck me, it's the size of a small child when packed down... I call it Godzilla. Anyway, I have been looking for a cradle mat that's portable and compact enough to tuck under the arm or strap to a rucksack - hey presto, my prayers were answered...
Trakker Sanctuary Insta Mat - got one as soon as I saw it - just perfect! Folds down very small and set-up takes 30 seconds, as does pack up. I've had carp to 33 in it so far and that fish just about fitted OK. It's just fine with doubles and 20's, but if you get lucky with a lump, it can do it. Quality is OK, not as good as my Aqua though. I think only time will tell with it, but am happy so far. Only gripe is it folds up into itself to carry - so that means a wet mat in the car. I just wipe it down with a towel and that sorts it out. No biggie, but a bit tight of Trakker not to offer a carry bag for it. I've now squeezed it into a Nash draw string bag... it is very good this mat and very compact when folded up - I even get the weigh sling and water bucket folded up with it. Most people who have seen it go and out and buy one - think it's quite new out on the market. I'd certainly recommend it if you want or need to use a cradle mat. Best I have seen so far anyway...

I have a complex of 4 lakes on one of my tickets
Biggest in 1 of them is 42
Biggest in another is 38
If I fish this complex I takes the barrow and a AD crib thing until I find perfection

Carp up to 25lb,and self takes...korum transition folding cradle
For carp up to mid doubles,and bigger course fish that clips on my rucksack,chubflat mat,also use this as bedchair protecter on Barrow stops scratches..
One can have the biggest and superfandango mat,but essentially it comes down to angler care and experience

Thanks so the korum one could be a problem on some lakes balliff might say it's to small I was thinking of getting the korum one for river and lake just have one mat I too want one that goes on a rucksack so it's better to get the ngt that will do anywhere?

Korum transition has a vid on YouTube showing a 42lb mirror on it,but its tight fitting,if you had a Klaus Schwab for a bailiff they might complain etc..
Korum is good tho,NGT probably is best for no complaint from NWO bailiffs I like the Korum as it's very compact and well made,plus chances of me catching a 40+ from lakes I fish are zero,the chub,mat is great for lightweight Barrow protection...

I've got 2 nix mats I use when using a barrow, albeit even when carrying my kit they stay in the van just in case. I've recently though bought a Cotswolds roll up mat that I use for my specialist fishing, found it to be useful when travelling light carrying kit aswell, clips onto the top of my vulpine rucksack and would have no bother resting fish to 35lb on it at all.

I don't think herr schwab would allow fishing, which is a good call since the carp would have to wear nappies as well under his reign. But he promises we would all be happy regardless:O

90% of fish it will be good enough for I guess but where do you do compromise??
