Can anyone remember the name of the bait company that produced a bait called Winter Secret. I believe they used to roll bait for Solar who ended up with a bait of the same name. I think they were from Kent .

As far as I'm aware Winter Secret was always a Solar bait but they never used to roll it themselves. when I used to buy it direct from Solar they used to mix the ingredients at their Orpington site, send it to Kent Particles to be rolled, boiled and then it was sent back to Solar. So if you asked for 10Kg that was the dry ingredients but by the time time it came back finished with the eggs included it was more like 13Kg.
I can't remember the name of the chap who ran Kent Particles but he doesn't run it now.
Some where along the line Winter Secret was renamed The Secret but I haven't got a clue who made it for them at that point.
I've lost track nowadays and I'm not sure if it's still available.

Fisher baits,
also remember that advert, the bait that brought Ritchie Back (McDonald) after he caught the Richmond park 40.
and Glen Powling catching his big 68.5lb Cassein fish, which was on the HNV 68.
Then it all ended when the factory burnt down

I was on Cassien when Glen caught that fish he was fishing with a guy called Simon I think. I had been in the same swim just two days before he caught it.

My obsession with Cassien started that year
Moved from the south arm swim in front of Gerrards where Glen caught the fish to the bridge swim as Joe Taylor was just leaving, caught a 30 then moved just passed Ellis point and caught a 40.
Met some young now well know German and French anglers on that two week trip.

Sadly that was also the week we lost Keith Selleck and Wayne Dunn on Savay.
I remember Glen got the call at Jerrards .

Yes you are correct my mistake I did mean to say Clive,... Apologies to Wayne.
Such a tragedy at the time.
Was talking of Wayne only recently, last I heard he was living in France .
