Looks like the stock has arrived for the above and being sent out to pre orders....
Just wondered what we can expect and the feedback from those that recieve there deliveries over the next 24 hours?
There is no marketing for an Aqua equivalent from what I have seen..
Theres been alot of controversy that they come from the same warehouse at a cheaper price..

Whats peoples thoughts?

I cant see any sizes mentioned ?

but comparing it to the Wychwoods new Tactical brolly thats a 55" looks similar size ?? and thats got rear vents and optional £29 zip on front or a zip on mozzie front

Aqua did say they were getting a new material maybe that's the mk3

I took a punt on one of these with a winning bid of £101 on the Cyrpinus site. I didn't really need it if you know what I mean but when i used my Nash profile for a day session the other day I noticed a small hole and some tape coming away. Not bad for twenty years + worth of use.

Anyway it arrived today and the quality looks spot on with a very thick lined material. It came with groundsheet, Pegs and two sets of storm sticks. A heavy duty case and also soft covers for the centre boss and the bell cap.
Also a separate bag for the storm sticks.

I haven't been able to set it up yet due to the snow but will do asap.

For £100 I don't think you can go wrong and I will use it for day sessions and quick overnighters.

If aqua want £300 for one without storm sticks they are very much deluded.

What are the ribs and mechanism made out of? fibreglass or steel?

Steel and little nuts and bolts fixing the ribs into the boss.

How is the longer term experience with these brolly's? I read some bad reviews about the old ones, but the new ones (mk3) look very good.

I've very recently bought an over wrap for a different bivvy from cyprinous, and the tent pegs they sent are Aqua branded tent pegs. So is it all made in the same place now?

Mine is fine, no leaks and the material is excellent. I have used it about 15 times. I have read varying reports about the quality but for the £101 I paid for mine I would definitely buy again .

Not a direct answer to your question but I have e mk1 cyprinus fast n light and I have been using it 1-2 nights a week for the last three years and it's still going strong.

Had a Cyprinus and no problems. Picked up the Aqua cheap so now use that as well.

Despite all the talk years ago they are not the same.

Aqua material much thinner.

I've never seen a fast n light in either incantations, would some one be able to tell.me if they come with a central pole,to aid setting etc..

The cyprinus version I have has a central pole Adam. It does leak though, it's nowhere near as good as my original aqua brolly which is over 25 years old and still doesn't leak...

Love my MK3 had no issues with it at all the Over wrap was late coming out so took a punt on the Aqua one to give it that rigid feel when battening down the hatches..

I have a bivvy thats become redundant like another said I won it in an auction so didnt pay full wack but on my usage and its uses for small swims and lightness I would of paid the asking amount.
