I have managed to put a few dinks and marks in the rear upright of Jag micro pod is it possible to restore or paint it or should I just buy a new one

I'd get a new one. A repair would look gash. You'll always be sitting there, looking at it, knowing full well in your heart of hearts that it's f..ked.

It's not paint It's anodised

You cant really paint it as its anodised not painted. Just live with it its fishing tackle its ment to get scratched and dirty. The new one will just get marked the same so you will be for ever changing them or by stainless then you wont have any issues again.

If the finish bothers you that much you could paint it by applying an etching primer before the top coat but as Stuart says why bother.

I think we both know you and I would be ordering a replacement.

At least I've learnt my lesson the lock it tool doesn't fit the rear upright different diameter 🤦🏽‍♂️

If the pod is new and it was clearly user error rather than wear and tear I'd get in touch with JAG, their customer service is second to none.

This isn't meant to be patronising but if you don't want to live with a few marks/dings with powder coating replace with a bare metal equiv as inevitably coatings will get damaged over time.

Which part were you trying to tighten with the lock it tool ?

The longer upright on the micro pod which fits on to the buzz bar it's a slightly larger diameter so the tool slipped when I was tightening it up

I use the JAG black xcavator sticks and they've got a few scuffs from pushing into hard ground over the years and it doesn't bother me one bit. But a gash around the top of a pod upright when it's still new and shiny would definitely bother me so I get where the OP is coming from, and I think most would be at least be bugged by it if they're completely honest.

And come to think of it I chipped one of my buzz bars went it was new and used one of those car paint pens from Halfords and I'd never thought of it since until now so must have done the job. So if it's an area that you're not pushing into the ground then try that.
