Was thinking of start using Fruit Frenzy boilies by Poacher Baits. There's not that many comments on here about them. Has anyone had any experience (good, bad or indifferent) of them, including the wafters and hard hookers.

I rang them last week and they told me they were a firm bait, which is what I prefer to deter crayfish.

Mate of mine absolutely swears by poachers, including fruit frenzy. To be fair to him he does pretty well in it to. Im considering changing over to them next year. It'll be them or abs

I've just ordered a couple of pots of hookers and pop ups pear/pbs,I like the look of the nut and maple I prefer a soft bait. It's a shame they don't do sample packs.I might bite the bullet and order a couple of kilos before I put a bigger order in.

peardrop is summut special, especially as a hook bait.

its the only hook bait ive used for many years now.

I normally mix 3 parts one bait, be it frenzy, Tnm or SV1 and 1 part peardrop as freebies

I've not used Fruit Frenzy in the UK but had bites on it in France. I currently use PSB and SV2 which is a beefed up SV1. I use pear drop pop ups over bait as well.

Good info mate, thanks a lot, what's the firmness of the other "standard" Poachers freezer baits (pear drop, TNM, SV1 and PSB).

TnM is generally the softer of the baits

Peardrop, as above

Frenzy being fishmeal and birdfood etc is slightly firmer, but air dries really well should you wish to harden the baits (no need in my opinion)

SV1 and SV2 is a soft bait, but again, dries well or just ask Gavin to dry them out a little longer for you

PSB, ive only had 5 KG so far, but that appears to be firm, but not overly

hope that helps mate

If you had to or could only fish with one of their range including the special order ones Joss which one would it be, with 16 years under your belt fishing their baits their must be a standout for you.

dam fine question mate and not and easy one to answer if i'm honest

But simply based on the amount of fish i've caught over a very long period of time and the consistency of catches, not only for me but close friends who use it, it would have to be TnM

Thanks Joss, having seen you had used them for so long as I have with some other bait companies in the past there is usually a standout confidence in a bag bait amongst all the (I think it's fair to say) smaller known bait companies, when somebody like yourself has had the longevity with a company then who better to ask.

Thanks mate.

I would like to add. i have NO commercial/financial gain nor ties with Poacherbaits. Yes, i'm very good friends with them, but ultimately that's it.

I do sort bait out for my mates with Poachers at the same price as i get it myself.

I have just bought a small table top freezer as I've been without one for a few years it probably only holds 15/20 kilos max and looking at PB's Black Friday deal I'm going to put an order in, it's about time for various reasons I need to try a different supplier.

Hi there Joss, in the end I bought 30Kg in the BF Sale, 10Kg of each Fruit Frenzy, TNM & Pear Drop. I also got some associated hookbaits for each flavour, including Pear Drop pop ups!!

On their website, you can only order Pear Drop pop ups if you order 10Kg of the freebies. If you ring them, will they do them on their own? I'm asking in case I run out in the future........

I ordered 30Kg of 3 different types as per post #36 on Saturday morning (just after their BF deal was announced), got an e-mail today saying it had been dispatched. But I bet I got in there first, so may be a little longer now. I'll let you know when they land.

Thank's again Joss I placed my order yesterday I saved £45.00 with the 30% + the free delivery so cannot fault that, I went for 10kg of the TnM and 5kg FF added a tub of the peardrop pop-ups and hard hookers with some others in the TnM and FF.

Freezers plugged in and ready should get out over the Christmas break to have a go with it I'm busy up until then helping my mate drain down his lake de-silt, bit of stock management this weekend and finish off the otter fence we've started through December.

What size and presentation have you found most successful with the pear drops. I might try them in a 16mm pop up on a ronnie rig. What rig do you find presents them best and has most reliable hook ups?

i use 16mm

multi rig

theres nothing specific rig wise with the Pear drop, its just boillie after all, the rig decision is based on the situation you intend to fish it over

With lockdown, I've only started using Poachers this year and first impressions are good. Caught well on them. I'm more of a wafter man than a pop up man, hence I use the German rig. But as Joss says, pick your bait and rig to suit the situation.

Really interested in taking advantage of the offer for these baits, only I have literally zero freezer space, does anyone know if I air dry them then coat them with the glug if they will last like a shelf life. Tia

Yes the Glug is glycerine base which is a natural preservative it will also harden the baits aswell.

A day or two maybe in an air dry bag?. Then glug 'em up in a container.Probably wont last indefinitely but you should get a good run out of them

You won't regret it. I switched over from Atlantic Heat (Baitworks) to Poachers baits this year. And I've had particular success with both the baits you mention. TnM with a matchng wafter over them and FF with a fishy wafter over them. I've just ordered another 10Kg of FF.

Give them a call, there's a mobile number on their website.

It is a busy time of year so maybe you should have allowed a couple of weeks for delivery. Having said that I've just got back from A.B.S and they told me they are busy but not as busy as they expected to be.
