Good evening, any of you that have experience with this product confirm if it is a tight woven or a hollow braid? Thanks in advance

It is not hollow but an elasticated braid with PVA threads running through it which need to be soaked before casting out to engage the stretchy nature of the product. It is easier to work with dry hence why this has been done.

Thank you both for your answers I didn't want to spend the money and it not be what I want, but ideally I needed it to be hollow, so it won't be any good for what I was after. Again thanks.

What rigs are you using it with? I have a spool from years ago that's seen the light of day a couple of times but never had any luck with it.

I use it as a combi link and its caught me loads of fish also my pb of 51lb 4oz on it.
a very under used material, I think people are put off by the thickness but I have never had a problem with that, I think the fact that is springy and make it really hard for the fish to deal with makes up for the thickness.

I really rate it as a hook link. It can be a bit of a pain to thread through the eye of the hook due it it's thickness so a needle threader is useful, also you will need to use another material for the hair.
It is quite a light color so I use a felt tip of mud on it to darken it up as I fish quite clear waters.

Seeing it has PVA for the stretch does that mean it's a one cast product?

when its dry its not elastic.
once its wet it contracts and can be stretched.
obviously it doesn't go back to its original form when dry.

If you want a hollow braid then you haveFox CamoSplice or one of the lighter strength leadless leaders. Some people find they struggle to splice the thinner hollow braids but I use the Fox Easy Splice "needle".

nope not true it always got its elastic properties
and IMHO can really help to hook a fish I been using it for years as a combi rig luckily not many people use it so its more effective as the fish are not used to seeing it and its a definite edge

Cheers for all the rig tips. I used to rub mine in mud as it is grey and white, if Nash still make it is it still that same colour?

I dont think the colour matters in the slightest if the fish knew what it was you would never catch them in fact I think they are far less wary

Someone's watched Jim Shelley on Cypography😉
Steve Reynard brought out the Hermit Rig which is similar in the way that the lead Is under tension, so if a carp pulls the hooklink, it's as if the hooklink is pulled back towards the lead. There films on u tube.

I use a trigger link combo for most of my fishing in France 🇫🇷.
Always well hooked and yet to lose one .
Underrated in my opinion .
Shame that everyone gets hypnotised by the rags and DVD,s to all fish like sheep 🐑.
All I see and hear is Ronny this and Ronny that or Zig this or zig that .
Most wouldn't be seen dead with a basic dacron hair rig these days 🤔
If one of their heroes designed a rig using gold weave hooklink and a rig was £35 a go it would be used all over within weeks which would prove herd mentality .
Always well hooked and yet to lose one .

Merlin has always been my go to hooklengh. Loved the concept of trigger link bought a load still haven't used it extensively but will at some point

When I'm only there for a week or a month I want a result .
I hear a lot of comments regarding over stocked pools in France 🇫🇷 from those that havnt been .
Most decent big fish venues the fish have seen everything , every bait , every style , every rig .
And seen all European anglers and their tactics .
Easy they say !!!!!
But a lot blank .
These fish are hunted 24/7 for most of the year by Europeans best anglers and some not .
It's a different gravy , yeh most catch a few but to catch consistently is another ball game .
I don't use this method in the U.K. as I have never had to , the way I fish in France 🇫🇷 would get far too much criticism from those that would not understand .
Anyway triggerlink in 25 lb is my go to hooklink with a spliced 4” of supple braid .
Total length 7” the rest shall remain undisclosed as it's not worth the negative comments .

I used it a lot when it first came out in the early 2000's as a combi rig setup (I used a 8" dry length of TriggerLink with a 2" Armourbraid hook section attached with a tucked back to back Grinner knot so the tag ends faced the same direction when tightened which as los eliminates any chance of it slipping - ie tie the grinner from the Triggerlink around the braided section, then fold the tag end back so when the Grinner in the braid is tied it is tied over both the main Triggerlink & the tag end of the Triggerllink Grinner). This also makes a good anchor point to mould a bit of putty around to help the hook drop to the bottom lip. I also found it more effective when used with a 4oz+ lead as the lead would help the Triggerlink to pull the hook into the mouth further, but I am sure it works just as well with a lighter lead. The colour of the material is not as bad as it was way back then though but I still run it over some lakebed clay/mud/putty of fleck it up with a Jag hook point pen.
I did find that it used to be tangle prone with smaller hookbaits but this was easily overcome by using a PVA mesh bag or 2-3 baits stringer to help keep the hook away in flight.
Whatever you do though, don't cast it out into the lake dry as you are asking for trouble especially if fishing over hard ground as when it contracts when submerged in water, it will drag the hook back towards the lead arrangement & potentially dink the point or catch up on any pieces of debris.
Very under-rated stuff indeed IMHO.

I used it as a combi-link & had a few fish but was never 100% about its knot strength.
Do you fish it straight through, or favour either a grinner or albright knot for combis?
