I am thinking of getting new rods, rods with a telescopic but section.
At the moment, i am thinking of the nash scopes 10 ft or the aqua atom rods.
What do u think?
Or maybe some other options?

Personally I like the action of the Aqua's better.

The Aqua ones seem decent but I think they only come with 50mm ringing which is overkill on 10ft rods imo, so I went for some 3lb pace compacts, easily better than scopes

Exactly Andy, I'd be interested to hear why the Aqua rods are so much better than scopes.
I've had 3 or 4 sets of scopes since the mk2's come out. I have used them all over the U.K. and abroad, fishing under the tips or at range, and landed loads of fish to over 50lb on them. They have been abused and still never let me down. I did get a set of the Cotswold Pace compacts when they come out, and IMO I actually preferred quality of the scopes.
I think there is too much label snobbery in carping now. You get people on this forum caning anything that comes from labels such as Nash, but to be honest most firms now produce some good stuff as well as some crap stuff.
Don't knock scope rods just because they come from Nash, and your mates cousins dog had one snap on him 10 years ago.

With reference to the original post. In my opinion mate, you can't go far wrong with a set of 10ft 3lb scopes. These I believe have got to be the most versatile carp rods available, capable of pretty much anything from stalking to putting leads 100yds. At the mo I have 9 footers for small waters and 12ft Aviators for everything else, but If I could only have one set up for everything this would be my choice.

Same as you Steve, bought a pair10ft 3lbtc scopes and impressed bought another pair as backup but not needed them yet. The pace compacts are a down graded scope ie no outer wrap, cheaper guides and cheaper non fuji reel seat but somehow are better quality.

It's just because of the Cotswold rods label. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few builds from Tom and they are top notch, but as I understand it, the Pace Compacts are not built by Cotswold rods at all. They are built to their spec in China, much like scopes are.

I think the scopes are okay of course, but based on action alone I felt the pace compacts were a better rod for me. I was showing them to someone down the lake and he let me have a look at his scopes, few casts and having a waggle/putting a bend in the rod is about as much as I could really have. He had a few casts with mine, he said he was thinking about waiting for the pace's but they were out of stock for quite a while.
Fixtures and fittings don't make or break a rod for me, it's all about the action and feel. I have a set of wychwood fltr rods at £40 a pop, my heavy tench rods really... and those are cheap as you like but have the right semi-fast action for wanging out heavy feeders with a stick pva bag. Preferred those to the drennan distance tench and bream mk2's... Perhaps I am just a heathen where rods are concerned

As a former owner of both i can honestly say i am sold in the pace compacts. I had the scopes in the 9ft in their latest guise and agree they have a quality feel to them. I did have a tip go on a cast which knocked my confidence in the product as i treat my gear very carefully therefore i can't give a long term scope review but the pace compacts have been faultless..... So far lol! I agree there is a lot of snobbery within brands and i think the internet doesn't particularly help with this as people are quick to degrade a product publicly when they've had a problem but good feedback doesn't get such a public airing, the bigger the brand and customer base the more chance statistically of something going wrong. There's thousands of anglers out there loving their scopes, dwarfs, compacts etc i would imagine the aqua atom rods are right up there with them all too so i don't think you will go wrong with any of them to be honest.

They will fit the scope bags as a friend uses exactly that setup. They also fit the appropriate (51" i think) cotswold stalker pouchs too

Maybe worth talking to the tacklebox as they have a range of rods that many like. Personally I wouldn't purchase any rods from Nash Fox Avid etc as I view it as a side line for them, ok odd comment I hear that the tackle box is offering a decent after sales service and longevity which history suggests the others aren't the best at.

I have a set of 9ft 3lb cork scopes and am very happy with them. Can get a lead over 100yards when I need to and landed plenty of fish on them.

To me the Nash , aqua , Cotswold and Sonic rods appear to use the same blank
I have scopes and a sonic spod rod , both do the job for me

I have the Aqua Atom rods and really like them. Nice carbon blank, 50mm ringing is spot on and have used them at home and in france to good effect

From my understanding the Pace are on the same blank as the cheaper Nash Dwarf! This statement could very well be wrong but from what I have seen it seems to be true.
I've got a set of Scopes 3.25 in both 9-10ft and really rate them and was going to go for a set of 3.5tc for solid bags but ended up buying the Sonik Insurgent when Ebay had an offer. Picked them up for £98 each and by far the best out off all 3 sets of retractable-butt rods I own.

Had the Sonik Insurgents in 3 lbs. Very comparable build as the Aqua Atom, but much cheaper. I sold them because I couldn't get used to shorter, retractable rods (packing up is messy) and 3 lbs was too soft for what I needed them for.

I totally agree I have two 6ft xtractors and the faffing around packing them up the worst thing is trying to get them back in sleeves very tight fit I can pack my 12fts away quicker

Have a look at the ultimate bionic rods, the look the same as the pace rods without the line clip. they are 60 euro each I think. I was shocked to see aqua jump on the bandwagon and even more shocked at the price they are charging for them.
