Now that Dark Sky is no more on Android, can anyone recommend an app which gave the same amount of detail as DS incl imminent rain fall.

Accuweather has been spot on for me too, no longer have to just rely on poking my head out the brolly to see when to chance packing up or moving

It's not been overly accurate back home for me either, I find metcheck way closer to what the weather actually is

A lot of confused and misinformed people on this thread.
App's mean **** all, it's where and how the weather information is gathered.
The USA is where most of the apps get there info, this comes from buoys in the Atlantic , satellites and the military, only down side is it is scued to the US, and like all is based on a number of runs, ie different outcomes.
The Met office is your best source, their computer is the most powerful in the world outside NASA when it comes to forecasting, if you want anything extra look at Netweather, this site has 1000s of weather geeks inputting weather info, their rain and lightning radars are very good.
A lot of people don't realise that the Met Office was part of the MOD and was rather secret during WW2.
Every F1 team uses Met Office reports track side too, that's how good they are.

I use Arcus amongst other things its got an hourly option it finds me where I am ( with my location service turned on on my phone)
so I can check it and if it says rain in 40 mins it 9 times out of 10 rains when it says and thats all I want to know its helped me pack my bivvy away prior to going home nice and dry on countless times
so who gives a flying **** where they get their info from so long as is accurate ??

I tried it last night it predicted rain for a short period within the hour and it was correct. I generally use the met office app which is usually very good. I will be checking with arcus as well in future.

ive got a kestrel, hand held weather station thingy, does everything from wind speed, dew point, pressure, humidity and a lot more, size of a old nokia phone.
figured it would be better knowing the exact weather where i was and not a weather station miles away.
not cheap though

?? Wunderground doesn't.
It's mostly dependant on the local weather stations i.e. in people's gardens/farms etc.. they do a special piece of kit for it.
Most of the farms round by me have them installed Since IBM gave them and insentive
