Chaps anyone used their pop up corn?? The price of the esp or Korda stuff is getting silly, have used their swivels etc and been impressed

You do know that your not supposed to loose feed them? End of the day it's a lump of plastic, try some find out shouldn't be any different than any other brand

Just my opinion and I don't know about the corn but I would just buy the Enterprise or Korda stuff, at least you know what you are getting. Example being I just bought some sinkers off them and they are truly awful, just hard bits of plastic, not soft like the Korda ones and very difficult to slide on the hooklink without stripping the coating, back to the Korda ones. Their swivels are cheap and do the job as well as any others but there is a reason some other products are more expensive elsewhere.

The Korda stuff is £2.69 for 12 pcs so 22p a pop.
The Bank Tackle stuff is £1.89 for 10 pcs so 19p a pop.
Imo you're worrying about nothing mate. The hook bait is the bit that catches the fish. It is completely and utterly CRITICAL to catching kippers.
I saw in the classifieds you've just put Weston handles on your 4 sets of reels. But worrying about 3 pence on a piece of fake corn? It'll cost more than 3p of your time just to write the post buddy.

I feel your pain mate.
Years ago I bought this big cheapo box of mixed artificials from the local bargain shop. It had all sorts in it (corn, maize, fake pellets etc). None of them floated, straight in the bin.
Not worth saving on something so important as hookbaits imo buddy.

Yeah mate with swivels etc bank tackle are great but the pop up corn is more like wafter corn luckily it was £2.49 for 20 pcs

I'll second that. bought some bank tackle sinkers and they are rubbish, no matter what I do they strip the coating, binned em and sticking with Korda

I don't agree with banning things, however I am in agreement with banning people.
If you intentionally misuse leadcore/tiger nuts/plastic baits it should be the user that's banned, not the item itself.

I agree that plastics should be banned. It doesn't take misuse to make them a danger to fish and other wildlife.
If you crack-off, a plastic bait is fishing until the hook rusts or rots away. The plastic bait does not break down itself, so a fish, or bird can take it and end up with a hook in its mouth. Now imagine by accident that you cracked off and sent the rig into snags. The line catching up on the snags, totally unintentionally, and you have a tethered fish or bird, be it coot, tufty or whatever.
Add to that the litter. I know it is only a small piece of plastic, but what is the big news at the moment with plastics in the environment?

Agree. I would ban plastic baits for the reason you mention. Minimum I would allow floating plastics baits in the hope that eventually they would come to the surface, which could take years!!!
A hook can stay in good condition for a long time under water due to reduced oxygen that would promote the corrosion. Leaves a very dangerous situation crack offs with plastic baits
Environment and our quarry should be number 1 for carp anglers
If people want to use it that's fine with me, that's their choice. It's the fishery management which needs to make these decisions with fish protection in mind

I use yellow flip flops, fantastic price for hundreds of pieces of corn you can also cut them to any shape and size to balance perfectly.
