Theyve been out a while now. Any reports, pros and cons ? I love the shape, look quite thin in the wire for such a big hook.

Had three 20's on the size 5 barbed on a ronnie rig and 16mm popup last time out. First fish bend the hook point, but I think it hit some kind of bone in the fish - hook hold was still firm. The next two fish were taken on the same hook, and it was as sharp as new after that. Thumbs up from me. I will be trying them on bottom bait rigs next time out.

am using them at the moment, only bream to report though

Used the slip d rig with a size 5 this winter, double hooked a fish on them which then flapped in the net, luckily no damage to the fish but it put me off using them. I also found that the hook was dropping out in the net on other fish possibly due to the fine wire and small barb.
I love esp stuff but this one isn't for me.

Not had chance to use them yet, but had a load surgically sharpened by Jason Hayward.

I have used them with slip D's on 2 sessions since lockdown was eased and I have had 2 takes and lost both.

With regards to using them with slips D's, I had the same with other hooks using slip d's, this I believe was because I wasn't using a counterweight on my hook length. When I added one after chatting with Martin Clarke, each fish was properly nailed.

Used these since last summer and hook holds are awesome, I don't sharpen my hooks and they're nealry always sharp out the packet, and stay sharp after a few fish also!
I have loads and loads of different hooks accumulated over the years and these are the best I've used, seem quite small for their size though.
Edit: hook holds seem to be very good as well.

Have used them since December, 52 fish caught none lost, and no other problems whatsoever. Dont use slip-D rigs because the bait is way too close to hook in my opinion, and that what is causing your hookpulls in honest humble opinion.
Been using them for bottom bait rigs and the occasional ronnie rig. Only thing is that the point bends over regularly after a caught fish because they are so thin, but no strength issues.
Pulled 2 upper twenties out of a reed bait with 20lb mono.

For years I never had any brand preference to any hook and tended to just use what was on offer from a decent brand and don't think this ever cost me a fish.
I did try the Korda Kamakura hooks which looked great but I found they were so sharp that they tended to get blunt easily (if that makes sense) on a hard bottom.
Over the last 12 months I have gone with just 4 patterns and sizes which seem to have suited all my UK fishing.

It certainly is, have lost 2 fish on 1 session but those were on hinged rigs, and not with a trig hammer.
Have caught 64 fish in total, 52 on the trig hammer size 6 and size 7 for tigers.
Keep it all in a log, im not sponsored by ESP , but if they want they can call me. Before the trig hammer I used the ace razor longshanks.
But it really is my type of hook, love them!

If you are not using them with a slip d type presentation may i ask how you are presenting the bait with them on bottom bait rigs? you certainly seem to have found a successful method.

Nothing special, normal stripped coated material, like esp tungsten loaded, or Korda N-trap soft, with a fixed hair with a little knot. 99% of time fished with:
a bottom bait with 20% of the top cut off . That cut-off section of the boilie I replace with a tiny slice of popup. I attach a leadshot about 8cm from the hook to act as a counterweight to improve the turning when the bait is picked up.

Thanks for that i also do the same with bottom bait and top of a pop up, ,and with the shrink tube kicker its obviously working very well for you

Has anyone tried a Ronnie with these hooks? Historically used ESP Raptor hooks very happily but moved across to Muggas, use size 4 for a Ronnie in Mugga generally.

Yes, they are the perfect Ronnie hook imo. Used them a lot over the colder months and had quite a few, all were nailed and none fell off.

Managed to pick up some Trighammers in 4 yesterday and check them out, first impressions are that they are bigger compared to other 4's in general but they are a long shank so this is part of the cause.
They don't appear out of the packet to be any sharper than the Mugga's in the same size I have used for the last few seasons, but will take a look at honing one once I get the chance.
Will use them for Ronnie rigs as planned but unless they do something that the Muggas don't (and had no issues with the Muggas at all) I will stick to the Muggas moving forward.

It's interesting how opinion differs. I've used Muggas A LOT over the years, and currently use them in a size 2 for my bottom bait fishing. They're an absolutely brilliant hook, but I don't think they're anywhere near as sharp as the Trighammers out of the pack. I've never sharpened a Trighammer but wouldn't consider casting out a Mugga that hadn't seen a file.

What I noticed doing the pics for the sharpened hooks thread, gardener covert hooks seemed to have the most hooks with what appears to be blobs of coating on the points. The hooks were generally very sharp with just a tickle to remove the blob. The blurb on the point doctors made a lot more sense after seeing that.
I haven't used any hook straight out the packet since then
I might try and find the time to add trig hammers and a few others to that thread

been using these for a couple of months on my ronnie's and really like them
Super sharp but not having the issues of the points going rusty like kamaura's which is a bonus
Not lost any either and managed to get a bloody tench of of a weed bed after an hour of it being nailed! ( It was a big tench btw )

No issues. Wire quite fine, sharp and seem to stay sharp. Have tried some sharpened hooks and point gone over too easily!
