I have just sold my Fox Camolite Explorer barrow as it was too small for fishing with my young daughter (2 bedchairs) so am looking for something a little larger. Have just been looking at both the Carp Porter MK4s Evo & Tri Porter Big Boy as like the idea of 3 wheels.
Does anyone have any experience with either? I'm puzzled as they are the same price but apart from the thin back wheels (instead of 3 chunky on the big boy) the MK4s seems to be a better barrow and comes with a front bag and spares kit?? Is the Big Boy built stronger or iis it just the wheels that are different?

I have both (albeit older version of the MK4s) ,,,,, If you want to use as a 3 wheel barrow then the Triporter is miles better .... Its a beast of a thing and will carry loads. has a much better centre of gravity and pushes along reasonably easy so long as you are on some kind of path or track. The MK4s is designed as a single wheeled barrow with a couple of wheels on the back as after thought. Great as a single wheel barrow, absolute rubbish as a 3 wheeler

In complete agreement with the MK4s & the tri-porter kit being a total nightmare. The rear wheels lasted all of 10 minutes on my old one as it was not stable at all with them regardless of how it was loaded - weight forward, weight central or weight towards rear. Biggest waste of money I ever spent & I spend a lot on stuff I don't really need!
Have to be honest though, since buying a Nash powered barrow, I wouldn't change it for anything else out there currently. Coming up to a year since I bought it & it has not let me down at all or been out of balance however loaded. My wife is 5' nothing & 8 stone in the rain, yet manages to manoeuvre it fully loaded with 2 lots of gear no problems - even though she cannot see over the top of it!

Nash Trax Evo is the biggest barrow I've seen, better made than my previous porter light too.
I sold mine because it was too big but the all retina wide wheel makes pushing effortless.

I was recently tempted to get a triporter kit for a standard mk2. There's seems to be conflicting views on the thread as to whether it's any good. I take it the mk4s small wheels are pants but what are people's experiences of the triporter kit? Is it a pain unless the path is level?

Thanks all. I bit the bullet and purchased the 'Big Boy' Triporter. Most places were selling for £220-230 but Dansons Angling had for £199 with free delivery.
First thought is that is is a Tank!! Wasn't difficult to build and the 3 wheels are going to be a gamechanger for the waters I fish.
The only negative I have is that the Padded bar has a camo cover with 'BIG BOY' embroided accross it. As I am a hefty lad it looks like I have a personalised barrow so I have emailed CP to see if I can buy a plain one.
Other than that, all Amazing.

Hahah it kind of reminds me of when I went on tour with the rugby lads a few years ago and we all had T-Shirts with nicknames on the back. We must all have insecurities as there was Big Jon, Big Dave, Big Mark etc etc literally 3/4 of the team

I still think you would see it, for the minute I have just spun the sleeve so the writing is at the bottom but as I mainly fish (when we aren't isolating) park lakes with lots of pedestrians I would rather it's not on there.
